Your blog is fun to read. You have a good way of writing in a very personable manner. It makes you actually want to keep reading. I came across it while writing a paper for a PC security class, and it is the first blog I have read more than a page or two of.

You had me at "Specialization is for Insects"... I've been saying that for years, in many different ways, but that's the best one yet.

Anyways, long story short, good job.

(... First time I ever said that on a blog...)

Mac or Linux equivalents:

1. Password safe. Written by Bruce Schneier himself and free ! (both senses of the word)
2. None needed. As of this writing I know of no spyware for Linux or Mac therefore, no SpyBot for Linux or Mac. If this changes, which it probably will one day, I'm sure SpyBot will release Linux and Mac versions.
3. I prefer IPTables but for ease of use my friends recommend Smoothwall. Mac users should investigate "Little Snitch" or learn how to configure the built-in Firewall ipfw.
4. Also available for free is ClamAV. There are versions available for Mac, Linux and Windows and independent tests have shown it to be competitive with all the major vendor's offerings.
