Anyone that has ever clicked on a PDF document in a web page and then waited, in excruciating agony, for the unbelievably bloated Adobe Reader to open it knows exactly what I’m talking about. So, why not do something about it?
There is a totally free alternative to Adobe Reader with will open far faster and consume far fewer resources on your system. It’s called Foxit Reader for Windows. There is just one little catch. It’s not quite as easy as most programs to install. Never fear, here are your step by step instructions to a better performing system:
Enjoy your much faster and more pleasurable PDF viewing experience!
I use the "No Adverts for Friends" plugin by Donncha O Caoimh
Uninstallation of Adobe Reader complete! The Foxit PDF Reader installation isn’t difficult. I managed to follow your simple instructions quite easily. Great software. No bloat + no splash screens = Foxit PDF Reader. Check out Nitro PDF if you need to perform something more than just view PDF. http://www.nitropdf.com.
What a great reader! It’s like Adobe’s very early reader before it became a bloated mess! It was getting to the point where I would just print out any PDF to avoid the pain of using Adobe. Good find!
I agree, adobe reader SUCKS BIG TIME. In fact our whole office has now stopped using the stupid useless program and now sends all documents as simply jpg images, saved with Photoshop! Soon all our partners will be doing the same thing, as they too are sick of all the bullshit “security features” which are just ways to force people into buying their full bag of crap.
Cheers
