CNN iReportIt’s official, CNN has just turned every person on earth into a reporter.

With the new CNN iReport, anyone can submit stories, photos and videos to CNN. I think this is very cool, but it makes me wonder where professional journalism is headed?

In the past we had career reporters that dedicated, and sometimes gave, their lives to reporting ethically and without bias. We’ve seen a shift towards sensationalism over the last couple of decades, and now that American’s have such short attention spans, will there be any room left for real journalism once people begin filling the Web with personal videos of tragedies?

If you ever run across a story that needs to be shared, go to the iReport Toolkit page to learn how to send it in to CNN. But don’t expect to get paid for your report. About the only thing you could hope for would be 15 seconds of fame…
