This evening I kept the elves up late working on a complete overhaul of OneMansBlog. Loyal readers will quickly notice that this a fairly radical restructuring, and I know it sometimes takes a bit of getting used to when changes like this occur, but hopefully it will come to be a welcome change.

There are a few main reasons for the site redesign:

  • First, the new site theme will take advantage of higher resolution monitors than the old design. If you are viewing the site on a monitor that has a resolution of at least 1024×768 then you’ll be able to see more content on the screen than you could before. This means less scrolling!
  • The new design has a 3 column layout. This allows me to squeeze more stuff onto each screen, and also allowed me to move the advertisements from the top of the screen to the sidebar. I hope people keep visiting the sponsors, because that’s how I earn my pay. :-)
  • The old theme, which was heavily dependant on Red and Black seemed to be a love it or hate it color scheme. Some people really didn’t like it, so hopefully the new color scheme is more pleasing to a wider range of people.
