I think you're after a Rowan Atkinson sketch in which he plays the devil. The John Cleese connection may be because the two have worked together on Amnesty International benefits, so maybe you've seen John Cleese do the sketch himself sometime.

Great site! I am trying to track down a Python sketch that I only heard once years ago and only the audio. As I recall, it was John Cleese and he was Beezlebub (I think) and was separating people into groups for assignment to various parts of Hell. That's all I know and I am hoping you or those who visit the site might be able to sort this out for me. Thanks!

A Monty Python sketch in which a chap called members of the press down to the beach to witness him leap over the English Channel. Was the chap Michael Palin or Terry Jones?

I am trying to identify the sketch name and episode number of the Flying Circus sketch that shows men in suits walking along normally until they see a pretty lady and then they take off running after her. This happens several times. I think one of the guys was an announcer asking no one in particular what made them do that. I think this sketch was at the beginning of the episode. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone,
it seems there's a huge bunch of python-experts in here ... maybe you can help me:
I'm looking for a sketch, i'm pretty sure it actually IS a python sketch. The sketch shows a general or some other kind of high ranked military guy, who just got a bad message or something... he then begins jabbering about the next steps and gets more and more excited.. talking at some point about a "holy threefold total mobilization" land, water, air and so on...
that's pretty much all i can recall. i have seen all the flying circus episodes but haven't found it yet, so i started to go through all the movies, life of brian, meaning of life, grail, and now for something completely different, how not to be seen, the hollywood bowl thing and even jabberwocky..still ... nothing...
does anyone have an idea in which production this sketch was shown in, or its name or script or anything ?
thanks in advance

I'm trying to find a Python sketch which involves a very boring man talking about road directions. I think it is Palin that plays the part and just keeps going on and on about things like taking the A26 as far as a certain roundabout then avoiding the bypass.

The sketch was called "World at War, The Walker Brigade". You are correct that it was NOT a Monty Python sketch, but was done on Saturday Night Live, during the February 10, 1979 show, Cicely Tyson being the host. I remember watching that one and rolling in the floor as the paratroopers floated down with their walkers, then were such easy targets and were mowed down. The Walker Brigade idea was, indeed, quite a failure. I wish that I could find it on YouTube.

I'm looking for a Monty python video in which there is a very tall man, and you can just see his torso. He is standing next to a regular sized man and the tall man says to the normal sized man, "you have something on your face." I think they are eating bananas. And then the regular sized man says the same thing to the tall man and a large piece of banana falls from his face.

Do you know which sketch this is? THANK YOU!!

Does anyone remember an animated short of a postman delivering a christmas card to a man seated in a chair and while the man was looking at this beautiful card it began to evolve into war? Then at the end a knock came at his door and the postman grabbed the card and said wrong address and took the card from him? I am dying to see this one again and if anyone could direct me I would appreciate it.

What a brilliant collection. We're about to interview the great Mr Cleese on a Sydney radio station and I was sifting around doing some research and came across your site. I laughed so hard! Thank you for compiling the segments. Our interview will air on www.2gb.com at around 5.30pm Australian EST if anybody wants to listen in on the net. All the best.
I've got it in my head for some reason that it was in one of the Monty Python sketches that the imortal words "Wrap me up in Sellotape and bite me bum I like it", were said. I told someone recently it was from a Python Sketch, then it started me thinking. You'll probably know better than me. Any ideas?

Thanks for posting all the wonderful python skits. Has anyone seen the skit "How To Be An Idiot"? One of Cleese's finest moments. Also I don't think I've seen the skit of the hairdressers climbing Mt. Everest.

I remember a scetch or LP recording at least which invloved a King, Princess and a <strong>Prince Walter </strong>who was to marry the Princess (he was in the Book of Princes <em>and in the Forward</em>.) The King played his Hammond organ and sang a funny song like this: <strong>"Yar-de-a-bugedy-rum-fink-atoo-ni-ni-ni-yahoooo!"</strong>
What is the name of this bit? Is it here on the site and if not what is the title of the LP it is on? Please, I want my son to here it. Also, I'm looking for one where Palin (?) intoduces us to <strong>"The Wonderful World of Sound!"</strong> where he plays sounds of an Ant and Wood Louse magnified many times amonst others. What is that one called?

I have been looking to at least verify the "The Walker Brigade" did exist. Thanks for letting me know I did not imagine it. I cannot find it in any copy of MP that I can rent or purchase. I'm sure it will be a let down after 25 years of searching but I hope to see it once more before I die. Thanks for any help.
