How Mirrors are Made

by John P.

MirrorNow days, one of the first things people see in the morning is their own reflection staring back at them in the mirror.

We get in our cars, surrounded by mirrors. We watch our DLP big screen TVs, which rely on mirrors. And in general we just take for granted that mirrors exist.

But creating a mirror is actually pretty complex, and its only in recent history that man has had the technology to even create them.

That is almost funny Terry.

The video suggests that mirrors were “invented” in 1835 but surely there were natural mirrors around from day 1 – reflection in water for example. I guess it just took years for anyone to work out how to replicate the effect.

I for one would be happy to live without them !
