In the past I’ve sent you off to compare your salary with Michael Jordan and Oprah, but now how about using this little site to see how you stack up against the entire population of the planet!
The Global Rich List site will show you how you compare to the rest of the world based on your annual salary. While this is not nearly as important a measurement of your wealth as your net worth, it’ll have to do for now!
It also appears that the number stops updating at an annual salary of $250,000. So you can play around with higher numbers, but they’ll all say the same thing after that point.
Here is a little blurb from the site describing why they put this together:
WHY ARE WE DOING IT?
We are obsessed with wealth. But we gauge how rich we are by looking upwards at those who have more than us. This makes us feel poor.We wanted to do something which would help people understand, in real terms, where they stand globally. And make us realize that in fact most of us (who are able to view this web page) are in the privileged minority.
We want people to feel rich. And give some of their extra money to a worthwhile charity.
It actually caps out at $200,001. Damn it, will you lazy executive types ever be able to do your own work?
You don’t even have a job and you broke the freakin’ wealth calculator…
I bet in any given week you do about 15 minutes of real work!!!

I did absolutely nothing. And it was everything I thought it could be!
(Me:) You are the 734,285,882th richest person in the world! You’re in the TOP 12.23%
richest people in the world! Well, top 15%? I really can’t complain :)
