I’m giving fair warning right up front here. If you’re a Superhero movie fan you’re going to disappointed after you watch this trailer. Why? Because you are going to want to see this movie, but you can’t. Because it doesn’t exist. However, that hasn’t stopped 371 people from voting this 5 minute long trailer up to an 8.2 rating on IMDB which, if it were a real movie, would put it in the Top 250 of all time.
The most interesting part is, this trailer was made by a fan, not DC Comics. That’s right, according to the IMDB, Grayson:
…was made as an entry for a comic book convention in which a period is given to comic book fans who make their own home-made videos. After much fanfare and praise by on-line fans DC Comics established that there were to be no more fan made movies to be shown at comic book conventions. Any persons found displaying home-made comic book movies depicting any of their characters will be contacted by their legal affairs department. Despite this fact, Grayson remains a fan favorite movie and continues to be downloaded in record numbers.
You can see the official Web site here, and you can download a high resolution version of this trailer here.
As an added bonus, here is another similar fan trailer called “World’s Finest” featuring Superman and Batman teaming up:
I use the "No Adverts for Friends" plugin by Donncha O Caoimh
Grayson is terrific, but I’ve always liked “Batman: Dead End” even better…

well, i think the grayson trailer would have been even better if batman’s death was the reason grayson began using the nightwing outfit. other than that, great concept: seems like the jla (hinting to appearance of wonder woman and green lantern) are behind batman’s death and only grayson and barbara want to know why. of course, that plot would destroy all hopes of a batman beyond movie if bruce is dead, but who knows, maybe batman is faking his death for a good reason, and that is why jla want grayson and barbara to quit their search; could be a trap for a bad guy. the second trailer is nice as well. i see that film actually happening before a grayson homage. the sequel to superman returns and batman: the dark knight (possible title for batman begins sequel with joker) could possibly be a combination of the two icons; a world’s greatest concept. we can only hope!
I just saw the Grayson trailer, HOLY S#!T, for the love of superheros, someone fund the movie. I would be willing to pay $20 each to take my son to see it.
AN AMAZING TRAILER!
I only hope that the people responsible for putting this trailer to gether can fund the rest of the movie, or at least a TV Mini Series. Perhaps Joss Whedon would be interested in this?
Try Nicholas Cage also, (fine, he’s more of a Marvel Character guy but hey… )
Bon Jovi also is a DC Lover, maybe he could help.
Kevin Smith also… He started with Independent Films, and is a Comic book lover… Get this Trailer in front of him and maybe he would be interested. (probably will tell you how to get the funding to get this made if nothing else)
If I had the money to fund this, I’d risk it based on this trailer.
Have you spoken to DC Comics to get them to authorize it? THIS trailer is better than the 200 million they spent on Superman Returns!
Keep the effects Low key, Gritty, and the gadgets believable. Expenses could be minimal!
and if you’re interested in a heavyset 5′7″ character (willing to film in florida?) I’m ready and willing
(will work for expenses, and a reasonable cut!)
does anyone know the music in this trailer
