There were never five guys in the band...Ben chose Five instead of Three so that if he added more bandmates he wouldn't have to change the name... Anyhow, during the earliest live performances, the crowd started to chant "No way, get f***ed, f*** off" in between the lines of the chorus. In the early 90's, the band released a fairly decent live version of the song where you can hear the crowd chant this particular mantra. So, your example is not without precedent.
