I had the feeling of right and left side and up and over my head. I simply did not perceive the sound as coming from in front of me. When it passed from one side to the other it had the distinct feeling it was passing behind me not in front. Even the sounds of the truck were like they were behind me, not passing in front of me. You can get some pretty amazing effects if you place the mikes very far apart (like a room, house, or back yard). You lose the effect if you place them too close together. The quality of the mikes and the sample rate make a difference as well. Once you make about 2 simple ones, you will get the feel for it, and then you make what ever custom ones you like.
