		<description>I&#039;m guessing that the use of the roll of tape is itsself part of the sobriety test.  I&#039;ll bet people have a hard time bending down at the knees and putting the tape down all the time...</description>

		<description>Actually, they do use the breathalyzer, but normally I think they do one of the old fashioned tests first.  Mind you, I don&#039;t have any experience with this. ;-)

I would suspect that they don&#039;t jump right to the breathalyzer because in the US the police would need &quot;reasonable doubt&quot; to perform one, and on top of that you can always refuse to take it!  

Now, that means a trip right to jail... but it still might be better than giving them the evidence they need to convict you down the road.

Why spend 15 minutes laying tape, watching a drunk walk and stumble across the floor and touch his nose? I know it&#039;s funny to watch, but the police arn&#039;t there to get a quick laugh!
