I have to use my brain to earn a living and in my opinion I would rather use my looks. I envy a guy who has a great physique and can make a career out of it!

A models brain is their body , but models have two brains.

I must admit , the stereotypical onslaught for models is quite repetetive now. I did some shoots a few months ago and worked with some great people. I had always found this way of life to be somewhat disturbing , as a shy male and a negative individual , i guess you could say that i was naturally afraid of life.
However it was the exposure to the lense that buily my confidence , this confidence buily my body and my body built my life. This is a topic that has altered my perception of these individuals doing great work for the rest of us.
Despite what you think of them , models do great justice in providing us with the drives we need to achieve things , be it that new shirt or that person in the commercial we secretly adore. It’s these people that keep us on our toes and wanting more for who we are.
Models changed me as a person , splendid characters with more intelligence than the critics that scrape at them
10 out of 10 to all models , thank you for sorting my world out.

It is pretty funny how you think models are so stupid, yet you are reading what they have to say on their websites…hmmm. Why do you even care? You are obviously very unhappy with your own life and feel as though it is necessary to put down other people who are happy and healthy!…Go for a jog and keep your negativity to yourself.

Sounds to me like your the ignorant one!!! Use your looks to get paid?? Whey the hell not?? Oh, and most models RETIRE at 30 due to having made a killing off “thier looks.” I’d much rather enjoy my prime touring other countries, seeing sites and experiencing things most “backwoods idiots” will never lay thier eyes on compared to working a 9-5 till I’m 62 or older and …what was it?….fat and wrinkley! I’d like to know if you get paid $10,000.00 and over for one picture being taken of you or one photo shoot! Raise??? Who needs one with that coming in on a regular basis!!! Do the math dumbass….sounds like you’re the stupid one. Good luck with those brains!!

My sister worked as a model for 9 years. She had obtained a GED in order to leave high school early and pursue her modeling career. Best decision she ever made as she was earning well over 6 figures, and got to travel around the world, all at the tender age of 17. Not too shabby in my book.

Excuse me? Not all models are stupid. I’m a model and I find it very offensive that you would agree with a stereotype like that. My class rank is in the top 20 students in my high school, so I don’t want to hear it. You need to get in touch with reality and stop judging people you do not know. You obviously don’t understand the whole modeling industry when you say we just use our bodies to get paid. Sure, it is about looks, but its an art. Its obviously too complicated for you to understand.

I think the fact that you are placing models in a stereotypical value is absolutely a disgrace.
Yes, some may not be that bright, but if they can not be an academic person, modelling is a good place for a job, such as others would go into shop assisting or till working to get by. But you can not criticize any one for their looks, even if their beauty is used to gain money. I’m pretty sure most people would use what gift they have to make a career and every body should be open to choose their own. So by making comments to that, I would also like to point out that why do you think it is right to say that most models have a very low intellectual ability when many also have outstanding grades and diplomas and choose modelling as an alternative with the world being so obsessed with money and the lack of jobs due to a “credit crunch”? And no that was not a rhetorical question; it is one I wouldn’t just like you to read, but to answer. I am sixteen, turning seventeen soon, i gained 11 gcse’s. Passed every one I took, in the end I didn’t revise as I had no time due to other problems arising, yet I still managed to accomplish 5 A grades, four B’s and two C’s. The two C’s being half foundation so a C was the highest I could achieve. I would also like to go on to point out that I would love to be a model, being paid for your looks may be seen wrong to some, yet if they had the opportunity I’m sure they would have second thoughts. Think before you place your opinions in a place to whereby they may effect another person life and form coplexions, and stop aiming your hatred towards models who are also stereotyped as “ anorexic and to skinny (size zero model)” and focus your hatred into helping other such as with obesity, maybe the lack of attention to detail you all have may just be the right boost to get some to gain a better life instead of ruining a life some one has already created.

I am a model and I have two degrees. It would be stupid to not do what you love and get paid for it. I am sure if you could get paid to take a picture or deliver lines you would do it too. That was just an ignorant comment. Talk about what you know about.

models are pretty stupid…. most of them dont even have a high school diploma
lets see.. if a pretty girl has no brains, then why is she posing in front of a camera?
oh yes, using her looks to get paid
why not, ditch the modeling world, graduate high school, go to university,
and use your brains to get paid! not your body!, which is why their careers
are over by age 30… wrinkly fat bodies… magazines dont want that!
so… lorin does your degree help you to get a raise in the modeling world?

Models are not the sharpest tools in the shed? Excuse me? Most models are no less intelligent than the average person! Yes, there are stupid models, but you know what? There are stupid people everywhere, and being a model makes you no less likely to be smart. As a model and university student, I find the idea that intelligent models are an exception to the norm personally offensive. Thanks for perpetuating the stereotype.
