VISTAPRINT is rip off company, they offer you business cards thinner than a letter paper, it is embarassing to hand them out, plus they ain’t for free because they are charging tripple cost of the shipping cost.
Vistaprint sucks, Vistaprint is a theif with a website, vistaprint is A pro scam artist, vistaprint is full of bullsh*t, vistaprint is liar because the priority mail doesn’t cost what they are asking for, vistaprint takes too long to mail you your business cards “do they send them on Camel” a camel is faster then vistaprint service.

Why didn’t I read this before ordering from Vistaprint? I placed an order and must say the quality was shocking! Being a togg (photographer) I thought I’d use one of my most popular image as a background. I’ve printed the said image numerous amounts of time and it looked stunning…..then Vistaprint get hold of it and, well, Oh My Days! I might email them however as I didn’t use their sample facility I might be screwed.

Having worked in the printing industry for decades (CD jewel case inserts), I am compelled to let you know that printing black (unless it’s simply spot black) is ALWAYS tricky, for some very good (technically speaking) reasons, and ganged print runs complicate the process even more.

To nail the card effect you desire, you would need to run the black twice — once for the solid area, and then again for the screen (photo image). Of course, who is going to pay this kind of money for business cards? Well, the super rich, perhaps…

I too ordered cards from Vista Print. For me, who is not great with ordering anything on line, I found the ordering process to be fairly easy to follow. However, when my cards arrived the font was so tiny that nobody could read my phone number or email address on them. I wrote to them immediately explaining the problems. Much to my surprise I received new cards in the mail with a larger font – and get this, at NO Charge. Now that my friends is good Customer Service. They did the right thing! Good going VisatPrint! My first experience wasn’t to bad. The cards looked great and they were shipped from the factory in three days. Now, I just ordered the same item but figured I’d save a bit on shipping. I was still thinking they’d leave the factory in about three days but no, the order sits for at least two weeks (and counting). I just wrote them today and they replied that the shipping would be different for different orders (?) and that it ships from Windsor, Ontario (same place as last time). I just wrote them back to point that pout and am looking forward to hearing what they have to say. I think VistaPrint is a little confused with customer satisfaction. If I’d known my order was going to just sit there for weeks before it was shipped I would have ordered from someone else.

Like so many up here, I was looking for business card service online after a bad experience with VistaPrint. I regret I didn’t look before.
First, the paper quality sucks. you can almost see the cutting dots (ok, not that bad, but disappointing). The worst is the color. On the front it’s perfect. On the reverse side… All the blue is yellow. Try a twitter, linked in and FB logo in yellow…
I downloaded a high res picture but the finish product if pixelized.
I have a credit I will certainly apply on a t-shirt or mugs with pics of my kids for my mom.
I will relook at all the comments up here and look for a new supplier.
Did they reprint your cards? Where do you print now?

I used to use VistaPrints also for cards that I designed for my clients. Usually they did an okay job on the colors, etc. My biggest complaint, apart from the hundreds already listed is that the cards are actually smaller than the industry standard of 2″x3.5″. I’m not sure why they do this, but it makes it really easy to pick out a VP card. I have recently started using http://www.hugemonkey.com, they have a goofy name, but the cards so far have been really great quality. I know they have magnets too (for David Eldridge), but I’ve never bought any so I can’t speak to their quality. I have purchased, business cards, postcards and brochures and am happy with all of them. Hope this helps.

I ordered from them the other day and you have to watch the upsells, they are as bad as Godaddy. When I got to check out they had added $5 for each image I used! I had used several, so I went back and put 3 of them together and reduced the price by $10. They then snuck in an adress label for $4 and I didnt catch it on checkout as I had spent hours designing and getting everything just right.

I think the philosophy is: “By the time the customer gets to checkout they will be so tired and confused they will click on anything”

I also ordered 3 day shipping so I’m waiting to see how soon they come and what they look like.

Vista print is ok if you have the designer to proof your files. Adjusting the curves in the photo and setting the c, m, y, k value to 100, 100, 100, 100 looks nice. buttttttttttttttttt always always always when working with black on print check the channel layers. Simply unchecking the c, m, y, k would of noticed your photo discoloration and saved you looking ummmm well not a designer.

I just finished purchasing with Vista Print because I needed magnets and GotPrint (http://gotprint.com, which I recommend and use for a lot of other printing) does not yet make magnets. I am very disappointed with their process and all of the upselling through the entire process. I just want to buy the stuff. I did not like the upcharge for uploading my own design. I am pretty sure that I will not use them again in the future. MOO looks very nice and I look forward to using them, but they seem to be somewhat niche for designers, photographers, and certain special marketing applications.

The place I got mine through, http://www.fingerpaintstudios.com , is absolutely unbelievable with their products. The quality is beyond even the most expensive that Vista Print offers, and only sends out a coupon email once a month if you sign up for it. I didnt even start getting those until I went back and signed up for it.

The process is straightforward and doesnt heckle you to purchase other items, it was just an overall great experience. I dabbled with the online design system, but I just went to their download section, got a template, and designed it in Photoshop. The cards for 1000 were $69, and I think $5 for shipping. When I got them, they were just perfect. The colors are all spot on to what they showed up on my screen (and their template is already setup at 300dpi and CMYK). I think they took 4 days to get here with the standard shipping.

I highly recommend this company, especially since it is in the United States. VistaPrint is from Holland and their English emails are absolutely atrocious.

VistaPrint focuses on price and specs, instead of paper and ink quality. That is why my last batch of cards was made by MOO. The price is higher, but so is the quality.

Tried vistaprint once. The cards were ultra flimsy, compared to the ones some of my peers hand out.

If anyone lives in the Toronto area, there’s a local web printer called Typo. I had my cards printed with them last time, 1,000 double-sided cards for $35, and they were just amazing. One of their reps even came down to my office to speak with me about the design, because I didn’t have one. I paid $70 to have mine done, and now I have a logo too which I can attach to my letterheads.

Vistaprint have really mucked up my accounts, they took two amounts out of my bank so i phoned them to fax over to my bank which one to cancel and they never did. an
Then they proceeded to take money for email and website subscriptions which had been cancelled and now wont give the money back, and the email / website department never called me back. They have had £35 of my money which they shouldn’t have as my husband called and cancelled before, last month and they never even logged the call or cancelled subscription. I have Autistic children and they couldn’t go to their clubs because of them.

I ordered business cards from Vistaprint – big mistake. The cards are horrible, throwing them in the garbage. I even paid for the better quality paper, printing, etc.

Their customer service is a joke. The phone lines leave you in an automated loop where you can’t progress down automated system nor can you get a representative.

Their 100% Satisfaction Guarantee is horsesh*t – they are keeping my money and say there’s nothing they can do.

DON”T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID – AVOID THEM.

Vistaprint are as bad as a company can get without being sued for it! They took my order one month ago, they said it will be ‘delivered’ on the 12th of March, and it is still ‘processing’!!! Furthermore, they don’t have a costumer service representatives, no email to send your inquiries to, no telephone to call, nothing. Even if you want to cancel your order they will not refund your credit, they will give you store credit, meaning that you will still have to deal with them again!
Vistaprint was by far the worst online experience I have even had, and I have had a lot of them! No sane person should make the mistake of dealing with those indecent liars.

Did you try http://www.leadprint.co.uk/ they are so good. You can your cards printed half of the market price and also customer service very good.

I do not recommend anyone to vistaprint. Once you order something them you should be check your bank’s statement very carefully as they starting to take small amount from your account. I a lot of people did not notice this and they make good fortune this way!

I order Christmas cards among other items from Vista Print. I had used them before and was pleased with the price and product. However, several months later I notice I was getting charged $17.95 a month from a company called Business Maxx. I called them and they said because I purchased from Vista Print I now was getting a monthly membership to who knows what. They had been charging me for about a year!!! Even after I made sure they canceled the account they still charged me 1 more time before doing so!!! I have a dispute in to my credit card. I also began researching this online and learned that they have scammed many people this way. I will NEVER buy from Vista Print again. Buyer be ware!!!
