I have a habit of clicking on the pictures of pretty women in the “Recent Visitors” area of the sidebar over on the right side of my blog – but not for the reason you think…
You see, a lot of the time those photos are images that Spammers (example) have assigned to a MyBlogLog profile in order to get people to click on it to take a look. I hunt those members down and ban them with impunity. Every once in a while though you see attractive ladies over there who actually are bloggers, and its really nice that they stop by here and grace us with their presence.
Of course, we have Lisa Marie Mary who is a regular… but I also recently spotted Stacy Reed, and upon arriving at her blog immediately spotted this completely awesome name tag that I can only assume she created. Fantastic work there Stacy! Oh, and that is a kick ass tattoo you got there… and quite sexy.

Oh, I guess I should tell people who don’t know that the saying on the name tag comes from the movie The Princess Bride. If you haven’t seen the movie, do it! It is an all-time classic. I mean heck, it’s even got an 8.2 rating on IMDB making it number 145 out of the top 250 movies of all time!
I’ve definitely noticed the way that spammers will like to use seductive looking ladies for their pictures. It gets attention because it’s rather different, but the couple of times that I’ve been curious enough to visit the site have shown me that what you say is true. They’re almost always just trying to con people into visiting their site. I’m not a fan of the practice.
Well if you ever wonder John, I’m on mybloglog too, I’m the guy with the gray shirt and art in the background :)
You’ll see tons of these spammers using sexy girl pics on myspace, one reason why I don’t use it.
So just so I understand, the link you provide under example, is an example of what you mean by spammer.
Awfully nice of you to put a direct link in your blog. I’m sure it will give her lots of traffic, even if it’s a no-follow.
Yes Brad, that is correct. But I don’t think the traffic is going to do that person any good. (And I’m pretty certain it’s not a “her”.) After all, I would hate for someone to provide a link to a page about me as an example of a spammer.
Also, this traffic is going to the MyBlogLog site, which means technically it’s not going directly to the spammers site. So you guys would have to actually make the leap to their site. Hopefully many people won’t do this. They’ll just see the photo and get the idea.

Hey, I use a picture of the good old Brawny Man (one of them). It’s a delightful means-nothing picture – although I wish I was brawny; i’m just plain old big.
