The Humpty Dance

by John P.

Humpty HumpDammit, this just needed to be shared!

It’s a little known fact, but I can sing every single word of The Humpty Dance by Digital Underground and sound just like Shock G. Hmmm… come to think of it, how do you know I’m not him? After all, he was always in disguise…

By the way, the first 10 seconds of the video have no sound, so don’t give up just give it a few seconds…

When you’re finished with that, Doowatchyalike.

Haha! Classic video! I haven’t seen that footage in years. It’s amazing the sort of lyrics could get you famous back then. Nowadays it seems you have to be 6ft tall, have a gun and live in the ghetto and talk about crime, gangs, women and drugs.

You don’t hear any famous rappers anymore rapping about they’re nose being as big a pickle :D

I’ve never heard this video before (perhaps I’m just too young :-).

At least it helps me understand a bit better some of the things I find in public washrooms

On a side note: I’m curious, do you ever get any warnings or notices when posting YouTube videos to your blog? I’ve been thinking about post some good finds myself but I’m not clear on all the copyright piracy stuff.

That is just plain awesome that you know all of the words to that song. That song is hilarious. I really like listening to the old school rap songs every now and again. The lyrics are just priceless! The Humpty Dance is definitely a classic. If a guy came out today with stuff like they used to, I think that he could hit it big because not too many people have heard that type of music.

I was a little disappointed because I was hoping for a video of you doing the song.

Shoot my images didn’t show up :-(. I grabbed the one on the top and compared it to the one in the post as a joke.

The <IMG tag worked fine in the preview but not in the post. Oh well

Hmm. That’s strange. I wasn’t aware that the commenting would strip the images out. But I guess it does that for protection from malicious images.

Do you have links you can put up?

Maybe this is a prerequisite for blogging? I have the same talent.

I must have listened to those Digital Underground cassette tapes so many times growing up.

Humpty Hump makes for a great Halloween costume. I dressed up like him recently for a charity event.
