Thanks for posting this video! Saved me in a pinch. I thought I would be forced to buy a new salad dressing bottle. I was also surprised at how easy it was to do!

It always amuses me that people find time for this type of discovery. Which reminds me, the reason I am on your blog is because your discovery's amuse me when I can find spare time.

Pumpkin,

Yes, I agree. The old "cork in the bottle while the wine is still in it" is never a good thing. The only good news is that now - after you've drained the wine, you can impress everyone you know by actuallly retreiving said cork! :-)

I, too, couldn't believe how hard it was to get the cork inside the bottle and easy to get out with just a plastic bag. Too bad there isn't a sure fire way to keep the cork from getting into the bottle in the first place. I hate nothing more than a cork floating around in a good bottle of wine!

That's a really great video. I never would have guessed that's how he would have gotten the cork out.

Derek,

I've had several people asking me how I come up with so much stuff to post lately, so I'm actually working on an article for Lorelle which I'll also post here as soon as I get finished with it.

Stay tuned...

Hrafn,

The funny thing is that my father actually sent me this video. (One of his friends sent it to him...) He sends me a lot of crap, but this is the first time I've ever shared any of it. :-)

I've seen that video before, but it is still pretty amazing to watch. I mean it makes sense because he's creating a lot of pressure on the other side in order to get the cork to do what he wants it to do (come out of the bottle). Still it's rather ingenious!

After reading hthth's comment, I am kind of curious how you manage to find all of these interesting videos. Is it just perusing different video sites or is there more of a method to the madness?

Pretty neat trick, i'll definitely give it a try some day. Maybe it went out easier because the bag reduced (removed) the gripping power of the cork.

I have no idea how somebody discovered that, but that is a neat little trick. Just pretty suprising how it looked so tough and tight to get into that bottled yet he managed to pull it out with just a plastic bag!

I'll be sure to try this, thanks for the tip John :)
