Minesweeper Parodic Trailer ScreenshotI’ll be honest, I never learned that Minesweeper game. It was on every computer of every friend I had, and I can’t count the times that I came over and they were picking away on that ugly gray rectangle, planting flags on seemingly random squares. Nonetheless, that doesn’t stop me from laughing my ass off over this brilliant trailer for Minesweeper: The Movie.

For something inspired entirely by a game that’s just a combination of pixelated icons, the trailer is incredibly well put together. With explosions, props, set design and the whole shebang. That makes it all the funnier. I can’t imagine how much time the College Humor guys spent making this!

I also feel obliged to praise them for a fantastic job in capturing Hollywood idiosyncrasies. They have the daring soldier whose father was killed by mines; the elite drill sergeant with the shady past; the tragic death of a friend accompanied by the notorious “Noooooo!!” scene, and finally: the worst case scenario that’s very unlikely (the dreaded eight flag), but does happen against all odds! Not bad! Felt like an actual movie.

Yeah, that was probably the best line in the film. ;-)

Either that or “Why are you here soldier?!” — “Because I’m BORED!”, haha.

That video was brilliant. So professional and well-done, I don’t think it could have been better!

I have no idea why one would come up with the idea, but nonetheless I think this deserves a round of applause.

LOL..I was having a bit of a down day today, but that video definitly cheered me up.

It would have been funny if they figured a way to work in the hack “cheat” that shows you a mine exists when your screen is dark

ie http://www.eeggs.com/items/6818.html

..Then again maybe it is there and I just didn’t see it.

Hahah, awesome.

“It’s never the first one!”

I never truly learned the rules of it.. and I don’t think too many others did either. You just keep clicking around until you have to restart. Reminds me of when I was a kid and I’d take my mom’s calculator out in church and start multiplying numbers until I hit the limit.

HAHA – “Why are mines even here?!”

That’s great! LOL. If I could goof off all day and make things like this, I would totally do it.
