This is way too cool. I mean that in both the literal and metaphysical sense.
So, getting back to the point at hand, there is a group of about 100 icebergs which were spotted not long ago off the coast of New Zealand, and just a few weeks ago were observed getting closer to shore.
So, a local news crew hopped in a rescue helicopter and did what any good conservative journalist would do. Land on it!
Top Gear just did an episode a season or so ago where they raced to the North Pole and realizing exactly how tough that ice can be, it’s mind blowing how fragile human life really is.
It’s crazy how the ice almost looks like plastic in some parts of that video :o
Heh I suppose this is awesome in a way, though depressing in another: what does it say about our climate and change? Ah well, at least it’ll be interesting if the ice caps start floating around the oceans :)
That’s pretty funny. If the ice caps start floating loose and swing by the continents someone can set up a helicopter “adventure tour” and we can all take rides out to walk on the giant iceberg. :-)
The south island of New Zealand is in early spring in September and climate-wise is probably comparable to northern California so those icebergs are melting pretty fast.
Smoothest Crash Landing I’ve Ever Seen
Here is an amazing clip of a small plane crash landing in California when one of its landing gears refused to function properly. Funny thing is, there wasn’t really any “crash” in the landing.
What makes this especially interesting is that someone apparently got another plane up in the air in time to film what...

Ok folks. For those of you who missed it, last week I was in Las Vegas at the Parallel’s convention. I posted some pics and some video, but the highlight of the trip was when I got to go to the Channel 8 studios with my friend Dave Courvoisier and watch him film...
The Chinese Can Build 15-Story Hotel in Six days! Why Can’t We?
A construction crew in the south-central Chinese city of Changsha completed a 15-story hotel in just six days! Holy crap! When you take a look at the amazing pace, organization and precision of the work it makes you think that the US absolutely SUCKS at construction!
And by the way, the Chinese aren’t putting...

What’s the weather like in New Zealand?
Oh my gosh – how cool would it be to STAND on an iceberg?! Wow! That’s incredible!
It looked like floating art – very beautiful. I doubt I will see anything similar here in the Philippines…
If I did see this it would be worth my “why?” question of the day.
Kim:)

The Kiwis invented bungee jumping. What do you think about iceberg bungee jumping?
