This story is simply heartbreaking. This beautiful, intelligent woman submitted to years of domestic abuse, all culminating in the day that her abusive husband forced her son to pick up a camcorder and video tape him beating her!
The husband’s goal was to document exactly why she was to blame, as if to preserve it for future posterity. All he managed to do was demonstrate that she was simply trying to make him a sandwich.
They should just give me 10 minutes alone with this guy in a closed room. And unlike other people who say stuff like that, I really, really mean it.
This video reminds me of the Rules of Islamic Wife Beating article I posted a while back.
I would like to remind all women, that if your husband / boyfriend ever, EVER lays a hand on you - even one time - you are abused. If you are in the US please call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-SAFE. You do not have to live like that, and you deserve better!

When will this stop? Somehow this goes on, on a wider scale. Abusing in the name of love, or in the sense of ownership once the couple is tied in a relationship.
And even on the wider stage, this goes more on a subtle level, the mental harassment if not the physical. Even the subtle level abuse on mental and emotional level is as harmful.
Oh wow, I actually watched this 20/20.. The sad thing is that this is the role model the son will have as he grows up.. This is the guy that will teach him what being a man means

I’m at least glad that this guy was so incredibly stupid to document his insanity so he could be found guilty on all counts, but I’m not sure 36 years is enough frankly. Incredibly sad that this apparently now-strong woman could be convinced she was quote “the problem”
I was really surprised. I wonder if he sits in his jail cell thinking how stupid he was to document the proof that would later help convict him. I like how the judge mentioned that the damage he did to his family, was likely worse than if he had killed her. And I agree, it’s going to take a lot of reprogramming to teach the kids that what dad did was evil, and that’s not how people you love should be treated.
I could see, in the heat of an argument, becoming slightly more physical than you normally are.. But the way he pushed, choked, etc.. That takes something inside that completely takes you over.. You have to completely ignore the rules of society for an extended period of time, and that’s not something you can look to find any plausible deniability with - it wasn’t something that “just happened” and lasted a second like throwing something during a fight. That was calculated and done with malice. Either way.. glad he’s gone.

Can’t really add any more than what’s already been said except to say that I’m glad the husband now has a long time to think about his gutless actions.

You probably mean it.. On my end, I not only mean it, I am very very capable giving back all that he gave to his wife. Now, if we are to add up all that he has been giving her all these years, adjust it for inflation and add the interest… Yep, I can still give it all to him and add a lot of bonus.

I think the man who is losing himself wants to throw his anger out at other people but still there are exceptions. But this man was not doing the rightful. I mean he didn’t see or feel anything was wrong in moving an innocent women from neck to the floor. And her eyes were full of fear why would he still go on doing what he was doing. Like I always say:
HOW STRONG ARE YOU WHEN YOUR OPPONENT IS WEAKEST?

Chow, for now just one thing as the bottom line, if you feel you don’t have job and have a lot of manly strength go and be a part of a fight club or something. You will a job and pain to help you relax
The silver lining is that the justice system in New York state worked this time. He better hope his prison mates don’t have access to YouTube.
It is a sick world, there are sick people who do sick things. Some people really need to be taught a lesson and locked up. I would never even contemplate hitting my girlfriend, let alone filming it? Pure twisted.
Talk about a coward. I don’t condone violence, but if I did, it would be against this guy
