The judge is correct; a man who commits wife abuse is similarly committing murder of the family unit. We live in a very violent society, a society that is still trying to figure out if the actions at Abu Grahib and Gitmo were “sanctioned” by lawyers or whether they decimated God’s rule to treat others as we would have them treat us. There is NO DOUBT that our violence exacerbated the violence experienced by our soldiers in Iraq.Violence begets violence. We must NEVER find violence acceptable. Rape is a form of terrorism, bred from the same mindset of imposing one’s will upon another. When a society tolerates torture, it also tolerates verbal abuse, rape, child abuse, and beatings. We must finally be able to say “NO MORE” violence of ANY TYPE. The preservation of violence is the greatest sin of this generation.

i am new here, but i am 14 years old and i am living in a home 2 where my mother left my brother and i to live with my insane dad. i hope that all affenders will be locked up and never get out.

I actually researched this case, and when it made it to court with the proof of this tape; the husband was looking at 12 months MAXIMUM in jail! Because of a journal of one of the wifes co-workers and the testimony of one of their three children he was sentenced to 36 years in jail. There’s a lot to be learned how how to help people in abusive homes and relationships. It happens more than we think.

Okay, now I have watched the whole video, it sickened me to watch it all at once. Thank God this man is in prison,
but 36 years is not enough for what he did.. This judge should be ashamed of himself for not giving this man the death penalty.

I think the man who is losing himself wants to throw his anger out at other people but still there are exceptions. But this man was not doing the rightful. I mean he didn’t see or feel anything was wrong in moving an innocent women from neck to the floor. And her eyes were full of fear why would he still go on doing what he was doing. Like I always say:

You probably mean it.. On my end, I not only mean it, I am very very capable giving back all that he gave to his wife. Now, if we are to add up all that he has been giving her all these years, adjust it for inflation and add the interest… Yep, I can still give it all to him and add a lot of bonus.

Back where I come from, all the lady needs to do is send a text to her brothers.. Ahh, I miss Sonny Corleone!

I was really surprised. I wonder if he sits in his jail cell thinking how stupid he was to document the proof that would later help convict him. I like how the judge mentioned that the damage he did to his family, was likely worse than if he had killed her. And I agree, it’s going to take a lot of reprogramming to teach the kids that what dad did was evil, and that’s not how people you love should be treated.

I could see, in the heat of an argument, becoming slightly more physical than you normally are.. But the way he pushed, choked, etc.. That takes something inside that completely takes you over.. You have to completely ignore the rules of society for an extended period of time, and that’s not something you can look to find any plausible deniability with – it wasn’t something that “just happened” and lasted a second like throwing something during a fight. That was calculated and done with malice. Either way.. glad he’s gone.

I’m at least glad that this guy was so incredibly stupid to document his insanity so he could be found guilty on all counts, but I’m not sure 36 years is enough frankly. Incredibly sad that this apparently now-strong woman could be convinced she was quote “the problem”

When will this stop? Somehow this goes on, on a wider scale. Abusing in the name of love, or in the sense of ownership once the couple is tied in a relationship.

And even on the wider stage, this goes more on a subtle level, the mental harassment if not the physical. Even the subtle level abuse on mental and emotional level is as harmful.
