Any of you guys ever heard Neil Diamond sing I'm A Believer? (Yes, it's his song for those who don't know.) No rendition of his I've heard sounds...right.
I'm glad the Monkees put their stamp on it.

When I was growing up the Monkees would come on every Saturday mourning and during the school summer holidays every weekday mourning. That was on RTE which is an Irish TV station. Most of the other kids in my area or in school never mentioned watching it themselves which kind of surprised me. I think I used to like Mickey Dolenz the best of all the members. David was too cute.

I watched the first two seasons and reruns throughout my childhood. Mike was the coolest in my book. This post prompted me to check Wikipedia to confirm how much of the music they did. On the first album, they did no music only vocals (due to time constraints) and learned their musical roles as their life as the Monkees blossomed. Thanks for bringing back those memories.

Thanks for the heads up Derek. I just got it replaced!

And yes, I agree. The pre-computer animation days were more realistic. They either had talent, or they didn't. Today you can hide behind all the flashy stuff even if you are talentless.

Your first video doesn't seem to exist on YouTube anymore. I like that these videos were made before they had the tools of special affects and computer assistance. It somehow gives it a much different feel, and it's kind of nice.
