LaCroix Water – Even My Dogs Wouldn’t Drink It!

by John P.

Lexi Won't Drink LaCroix WaterOk, I know this post sounds sensational, but its not. It’s literal.

I bought a case of LaCroix flavored sparkling water either at Costco or Kroger, I can’t remember which. All it is, is lightly flavored sparkling water and I thought perhaps it might be a more healthy alternative to all of the Coke I drink.

Well, I was wrong. You see, it’s only an “alternative” if you can actually drink it. But I thought this stuff was disgusting! Instead of just throwing it out, I thought I’d give it to my dogs as a treat. But even that didn’t work! One of my dogs drank a little of it, then stopped. The other one took one little taste and then refused to drink another drop!

I’m not kidding, I can’t even get my dog to drink it! And here is the photographic proof. (Click on the photo to see her actually running away from it!)

Lexi Loves Shiner BockNow, lest anyone say that my dogs are “picky”, here they are going to town on some Shiner Bock beer!

The dogs nearly attacked me to get at it when I poured this into the bowl! I mean think about it… 99.9% of the liquid they have consumed in their lives is water! ANYTHING else is a treat… well except for LaCroix water.

LOL I’ve heard the stuff is pretty nasty!

I’m a fan of the regular flavored water…ummm I think it’s Nestle brand, but I know aquafina has one too!

Haha guess I’m not trying that out! I really enjoy the regular water as well, and I try to drink as much as I can throughout the day. Unfortunately that only usually turns out to be about 32-48 fl oz. Not quite as good as the 64 that we’re supposed to be shooting for, but I still think it’s a fair amount. Either that or my bladder is very weak!

I didn’t find LaCroiz to be that bad, and as a test I gave some to my dog (he ate it). My camera is busted so I don’t have pictures, but I honestly don’t know what the fuss is all about.

I stumbled onto this blog because I’m desperately trying to find some Lemon La Croix to buy online! My buddy bought ALL the La Croix from the grocery store that i normally go to, and I’m completely torqued off! La Croix is THE alternative to all the Diet Coke I’d normally be consuming otherwise…

La Croix is sooooo damn good, it’s bordering on a wonderous out of body experience! I need some cans of Lemon La Croix right now and I WILL find a 24 hour Ralphs tonight… as of now, it’s turned into a ‘black op’ mission.

An ice-cold, refreshing, effervescent can of La Croix sparkling water is one of the MOST ethereal, delicious, cooling and spiritual drinking experiences one can ever have!

I guess it’s like Diet Coke in a way – you have to create a taste for it. When you do, however – there’s no going back! La Croix ROCKS and… heck hang on I’m on my way to my fridge already!

“LaCroix Water – Even My Dogs Wouldn’t Drink It!” That could be the start of one of the best advertising campaigns … ever! For Aquafina ;)

I was given a carton of Lacroix “water” last year. Seeing as it has the same name as my Gr Grandmother I decided to sample a taste. My goodness where do they find that water and WHAT are they adding to it. Needless to say the rest of the 5 cans went to the trash immediately.
Yes I think one DOES have to acquire a taste for it. It was worse than medicine. I thought that it was old and had been in the heat some where too long. Genelady

I was about half way through a bottle and just found some small bugs in it. I was looking to see if there were other reported cases of this.

So many negatives…. I happen to love the stuff…. It is an acquired taste and I too was a Coca Cola feen and needed a healthy alternate. No Calories, No Caffeine, No Sodium, No artificial anything, just water with a little bite to repalce that soda bite..

Cheers!!!!!!!!

GO McCain!!!!!!!!!

yeah, but dogs don’t like the sound of carbonation fizzing, so of course they are going to run away from it!

OMG, La Croix is the BEST DRINK on the planet! Try the pameplemousse–it’s the grapefruit flavor. I’ve had 5 today. This stuff is tooooo good to share with my dog :)

La Croix is the BEST soft drink in my section of the Universe. Orange and Lime are my favourites! I feel sorry for your dog, John P., he’s missing out. But, as always, each to their own! :-D

LaCroix is fabulous! I used to drink crazy amounts of CokaCola (like 6 cups a day since I worked the restaurant scene and it was free……. Bad) so I started doing half cola & half club soda. At first I didn’t like it at all but after a bit I started finding regular coke too sweet. Then i completely omitted the coke (which is tougher than quitting smoking!…. I think. I never really smoked) and I started buying lemon lime Safeway brand selzer water in the can.

You can get a 6- pack for about $1.50! Then I moved to Florida and Safeway does not exist so I came upon a place called Publix, which is one of the cleanest, friendliest, awesomest grocery stores I’ve ever encountered and low and behold; LaCroix. Naturaly flavored, 0 calories, 0 fat, 0 sodium and no fake sugars! As far as I’m concerned that’s more than anyone could ever ask for in a tast, healthy, carbonated, CocaCola alternative!

Flavored sparkling water is definitely an acquired taste. Some try to taste fruity (yuck.. seem syrupy), others, like La Croix have a more crisp and subtle flavor. I have to say La Croix is my personal favorite Selzer water. I am absolutely an Orange flavored ADDICT. Give me treatment because this water puts a hurt on my pocket book. I buy 12 packs of soda and other beverages at a $2.50 – $3.00 price point. I can never find this stuff for less than $4.50. Talk about price gouging! Heard you can get 24 for $6.99 at Costco, but it doesn’t have Orange flavor. DOH!!!! Does anyone know a good alternative? I’ve tried H2O, but it doesn’t have the carbonated punch that La Croix has. I like heavy carbonation, light crisp flavor. I’d love to find a cheaper product.

Dogs don’t usually like fruit flavors or carbonation (unless it’s beer – ha). I love the stuff, but it is an acquired taste.

I don’t see how water can be “disgusting”–I think you’re overstating a bit. I could see finding it bland, or, perhaps, unsatisfying, but disgusting? That’s like saying ice cubes taste horrific.

I personally love La Croix water, but then again, I haven’t so much as taken a sip of regular soda for 3 years and have been going easy on diet soda for a few months. If you’re used to really sugary soda with artificial flavors and colors, though, you probably won’t care for a drink that’s literally water, CO2, with just a hint of natural flavoring.

Lacroix is the best water! A dog is not going to drink sparkiling water PERIOD!! He doesn’t like all the fizz. Duh? Kinda a no brainer.
Anyway, Evian and Lacroix are essential to my pleasure seeking exixtence. I’m an American living on the Riviera Maya in Mexico and we ship it in by the case load.

Lacroix is great tasting sparkling water. The taste is wonderful and my kids love it as much as i do. It’s not sweet but has a very nice flavor and smell. the original post seems to be quite ignorant. If you are looking to drink some healthier, no-sugar drink, you need to understand that you have to slowly there gradually, because your taste buds have been trained to hit a lot of sugar.

I wish I would have known about this before I brought four 12 packs of this crud now I have to drink it because my boyfriend told me not to get it and I got it anyway and there is no way that I am going to get an “I told you so” from him so I’m just going to have to drink all of it because I know my kids are not going to help me. Who knows maybe I will learn to like it.

LaCroix is refreshing and very palatable.
I find cola products to be disgusting, acidic and upsetting to the stomach.
Why not just eat sugar from the bag?

I’m sorry but I disagree I think LaCroix is one of the best testing sparkling waters out there. Also it is half the price of Pellegrino or Perrier. What’s wrong with you guys?

Where is your common sence. You can’t compare La Croix with pop. It’s water. You pop drinkers. Leave the La Croix for us who know what is good.
