Yes. It can be difficult to keep up with these changes, especially if you are developing sites for others. I suggest two “rules” with regards to that:

Do NOT feel the need to upgrade constantly. You only need to upgrade if there are features you want to add, or if there is a security patch.
Tell clients about the rate of WP updates (1 major release per quarter). But let them know you are developing the site for them NOW, and it will only include 30 or 60 days worth of security patches.

People should understand that just because they have you do development work does not mean they own your future life. If they want you to do perpetual updates, put them on a monthly “maintenance program” and charge them a flat monthly rate.

Seems like WordPress & FireFox are going hand in hand with the pace of updates. But unlike FireFox, we have to make our blogs compatible to all those changes in WP. As a non-coder, it’s difficult to ask someone [& pay] for all these version upgrades. Wish there was a simpler way.

I just noticed the edit countdown timer when commenting on another topic, that is really cool – good job.

Also noticed that comments are added on the top now and oldest in the bottom, that is new too.

Wow – I’m impressed that you were skipping from 2.0 – 2.3 as well. I guess impressed isn’t the right word. It just makes me feel better. Ha! One of my oldest blogs is sitting on 2.0.3 and I’m dying to upgrade it, but, very, very skeered! LOL!
Perhaps today you’ve given me courage! :D

i see you’ve changed the sidebar look. yeah less cluttered now

so far on my end, no errors popped out

i’ve hold out on v2.3 is because some of the plugins i used it not compatible

try exploiting the new tag function in v2.3 john

Hey looks like the update went well (everything looks pretty similar so that’s good). I do notice that there are some changes, though. I see that the “Meet the Commenters” settings must have been changed (since everyone’s counts dropped), you might have changed the sidebar to be widgetized (which would make sense since I don’t even know if that was in 2.0), and the sidebar actually seems shorter (probably helped by the previous change and the move from lists to drop downs).

What do you like about 2.3? (I’m still working on a theme change for myself before I move to it.)

Update: are you also listing comments as most recent at the top?

Every time I update a WP site, it always messed the fonts up, adds little ”” and weird characters.
