Its the ability to understand your own and other peoples emotions.Basically how well u can figure someone out....so if your trying to figure someone out...then your trying to solve a problem..dontcha think? Therefore it's no different than mathematical, problem solving..like u would do on an iq test. This test seems similar to the performance IQ of the WASI. My IQ is 10 pts lower on this test that it is on the WASI. Could be the lack of sleep, and no coffee. :) I was disappointed to say the least. I scored high on the GRE (96th and 93 percentile) of the population of GRE test takers which like the SAT is proxy for IQ. I administer IQ tests all the time.
