Stephen Colbert is Gonna LOVE this Kid!

by John P.

Davy Crockett’s Great Grandson Kills a BearHey, did you hear about the 5 year old kid who killed a 400 pound bear? Well, now you have… and oh yeah, he’s a descendant of Davy Crockett. Figures.

DEWITT, Ark. — A 5-year-old Arkansas County boy killed a black bear Sunday weighing more than 400 pounds.

Tre Merritt, a descendant of Davy Crockett, was hunting with his grandfather Mike Merritt when a black bear happened upon their stand.

“His 10th great-grandfather was Davy Crockett,” Mike Merritt said. “And Davy supposedly killed him a bear when he was three. And Tre is five and really killed a bear. I really doubt if Davy killed one when he was three.”

I bet when Stephen Colbert hears about this he’s gonna have Ty on his show and celebrate him as a national hero. Those of you that have watched Colbert’s Threatdown will know that the number one threat to this country is always “bears”.

And I’d like to give a shout out to James Bishop for finding this gem!

Every day bears rampage our cities and force small children to commit murder in the name of public safety is another day the terrorists win.

Great job kid, my 3 year old is slacking! =P

Why does it seem like 75% of people with a Southern accent say they’re related to Davy Crockett? There’s either some stereotypical cousin-wedding going on here, or they’re full it.

Teach ‘em to kill right away, I always say!

Can you imagine – a 2 1/2 year old with a gun? OMG!!

Hmm, I couldn’t get the player to play :(
I could see the kid on the bear, but nothing happens when I hit play.

The counter didn’t even move.

I’ll check back later, maybe that site is having problems ?

^Do you use Firefox? It seems like most of these weird proprietary/specialized video players don’t seem to work for me on Firefox…If that’s the case try either opening it in IE or getting the IE Tabs extension for FF.
