Hey Craig, I take it you know a lot about sand rail, I was wondering if you know anything about the vw rails? And if you do, could you tell me if someone can put a bus transmission on a closed axle rear end?

Hi, Im his dad. In all fairness, I trained him to do it for quite a while before we took this video. Still, its quite difficult, and I'm very proud of him. He was 10 years old when we took this video. The car has a 500 horsepower modifed Subaru WRX with large ball bearing turbo and intercooler.

Normally, something like this would upset me - I can't stand it when my kids are on 4wheelers! But - adding in the seatbelt, the helmet, and the rollbar - makes me feel pretty darn good right now! Oddly, you posted this right after a friend in Illinois had a young neighbor (10yrs old) in a near-fatal accident on a stupid 4wheeler - so I couldn't help thinking how much better off that boy would be now had he been in a dune buggy instead!

What parent wouldn't let their boy do that? Besides with the roll bar and all the soft sand what can happen?

Yeah that's pretty impressive. I'm pretty sure that I could not do that. But maybe the kid has some experience (he sure had the clothes for it).
