I have always liked South American players.I Always rate them above the European players.Because they are very original in their technique towards football.Same is the with Ronaldinho who infact is a great player.

The typical American attention span is about 4 downs, the reason soccer has not gotten farther in the U.S., but there is hope!!

Come on the US has been the top soccer nation for about 16 years. Of course I am talking about the woman’s game. As far as the men’s game go, soccer is number one where it has no competition, it will remain on the second tier for men here in the US. Some of the sports I participated in my youth were second tier and will forever remain there, soccer will stay there too. Other sports will and are challenging soccer’s monopoly around the world now.

But onto Ronaldinho, he has all the moves of the Harlem Globetrotters poured into his feet. He is amazing thanks to futsol.

It is always great to watch that guy touching the ball. The ball basically follows him and anticipates his needs. sometimes just unreal

Just a minor nit to pick on nicknames, but he’s actually known in Brasil as “Ronaldinho Gaucho” because there is another, in some ways maybe even more famous “Ronaldinho” who recently left the limelight. He is also Brasilian and played for Real Madrid. Both of these guys played on Brasil’s national team for several years, and since the one you are highlighting came along later, he got the “Gaucho” tacked on, which in Brasil, refers to people from the southern Brasilian states. In portuguese, it is pronounced ga-EW-shoo, accent on the 2nd syllable. Having lived in Brasil from 1998-2006 I saw a lot of these guys on TV.

Even though I’m not a huge soccer (not football to me since I’m in the US and football is a whole other game mostly unrelated to the foot meeting the ball) fan, I still think that soccer highlights are amazing! I just can’t usually take how it’s 1 or 2 amazing highlights for 90 minutes of less entertaining game.
