Stephen O’Grady gave a lecture on Open Source Business Models at WordCamp 2008 in San Francisco. Stephen’s main point was to prove that Open Source projects and profitability are not mutually exclusive concepts. His assertion is that there is definitely gold in them there hills!
By the way, I’m sorry for the poor audio quality in portions of the video. Again, I was not in control of the audio system and the guys running the equipment were way off at times.
Anyway, you can also follow Stephen on Twitter.
Here are Stephen’s slides in case you want to follow along with them as he lectures:
And now on to the lecture:
Don’t forget that there are about 30 WordCamp videos here now from the last three WordCamp’s I attended, so there is an amazing amount of information if you are just learning Wordpress. Specifically there are videos from 2007, and from 2008.
I use the "No Adverts for Friends" plugin by Donncha O Caoimh
I’ll watch it later - what was your take on it?
