The Space Shuttle Columbia Disaster Reconstructed

by John P.

Space Shuttle Columbia DisasterSix years ago, at exactly this moment, the Space Shuttle Columbia disintegrated above the skys south of Dallas, TX in a catastrophe that shocked the world. I think it’s appropriate that we honor the memory of those fallen astronauts who gave their lives in the quest to expand human knowledge.

Chris Valentines produced the following video by reconstructing the entire Space Shuttle Columbia disaster and synchronizing a number of video and audio recordings into a single real time stream of the disaster. He’s also got a lot more analysis and commentary on the timeline of events on his site.

The advancement of human potential is costly.

I think that are country needs to stay away from things that cost a lot of money during this period of time. We need to focus are efforts solely on getting our economy restructured.

But spending money on the space program also will create jobs.

But I’m sure they could spend the billions spent on the space program into other things as well right? Like cancer research, world hunger etc…

If all the senseless wars could stop and we could put all the money and soldiers into a planetary greening and reafforestation program it would help loads too. Rather do that and keep the space programme, I say. Imagine finding other habitable planets out there!
