Dana Kunze’s 172 Foot World Record High Dive

dana-kunzeHere’s a question for you. How much would it take to get you to climb a 172 foot tall tower that is swaying in the wind, wearing multiple bikinis? Then, how much more to jump off? Finally, how about jumping off and doing somersaults all the way down to the water where you could easily break your neck and die?

For me? Priceless. For Dana Kunze? Oh, that’s free!

Dana holds the record for “World’s Highest Dive”, and this is a video of that actual event. Interestingly, he didn’t just successfully complete the dive. He did it with absolutely perfect form. Now that takes cojones of steel and iron nerves as well.

Extreme Sheep Herding! What? Yeah, You Herd Me!

Extreme Sheep Herding!Karen R. passed this little gem to me the other day, and she came into my office at work and was like… “you have to check out the extreme sheep herding!” I was like, “WTF?” But she was like, “just open the link I sent you.”

Another Side of John P.

There are probably like two people out there who actually would like to see another photo of me. But I guess this is for the two of you.

It’s a self portrait taken with a Canon 5D Mark II, Canon 28-135 f 3.5-5.6 IS lens, mounted on a tripod, using a Canon TC-80N3 remote. The shot was lit with a single candle flame, and shot against a black felt backdrop. Exposure was ISO400, 28mm, f/3.5 at 1/2 second.

It’s definitely not Kris Krug quality, but until he makes good on that promise to take some photos of me, this is all your gonna get! Anyway, if you select that image it will give you a bigger one, and then you can go one size larger still. Though I don’t know why you’d want to…

SEDO’s Domain Brokerage Service SCREWS Me!

Folks, I’m here to share a story with you that I can hardly believe occurred. It’s the story of a major violation of trust between myself and a company we hired to specifically represent us as the buyer’s broker in a purchase transaction. That company is SEDO, and this story is, well judge for yourself… but to me it’s unbelievable.

The story begins when I decided I wanted to obtain a domain, related to OneMansBlog.com, that was already taken and which I quickly determined was parked and had been registered at Sedo.

Sedo is a large, accredited top level domain registrar. So, I first did a quick search on their site to see if the domain was listed for sale, and when it wasn’t found I decided to check out their offer to “broker” the purchase for me.

The New Star Trek 2009 Movie Trailers ROCK!!!

Star Trek USS Kelvin in FlamesDear Lord. Let Christmas 2009 come early this year so that I can watch the new Star Trek movie (Even the Web site rocks!!!!!). It looks like it is going to be the best Star Trek I’ve ever seen. And believe me… being the huge geek that I am, I’ve seen them ALL.

I just can’t even believe how AWESOME this movie looks like it is going to be! I mean, it’s my favorite movie of all time already and I’ve only see the Trailers! This is bad… because if they are setting me up for a huge disappointment I’m going to have to go Klingon on some people’s asses!!!!

Check it! We’ve got the young bad ass versions of Kirk, Spock, Uhura, Chekov, Scotty… you name it! They’re all bad to the bone! I’m absolutely giddy.

Today’s Moment of Zen, A Bubble Blowing Dolphin

dolphin-blowing-bubblesYou know, there are an awful lot of things that we can be worrying about now days. Take the economy for example. Today, the market made a nearly 7% recovery in one day! But I’m worried that it will make a 4% dive during the week just to even things out.

But you know who isn’t worrying about things? Dolphins. Yep. They just swim around all day and eat fish, and play games. And just to prove it to you, here is a nice relaxing video of a dolphin playing with bubbles. You can thank me later…
