Dear Lord. Let Christmas 2009 come early this year so that I can watch the new Star Trek movie (Even the Web site rocks!!!!!). It looks like it is going to be the best Star Trek I’ve ever seen. And believe me… being the huge geek that I am, I’ve seen them ALL.
I just can’t even believe how AWESOME this movie looks like it is going to be! I mean, it’s my favorite movie of all time already and I’ve only see the Trailers! This is bad… because if they are setting me up for a huge disappointment I’m going to have to go Klingon on some people’s asses!!!!
Check it! We’ve got the young bad ass versions of Kirk, Spock, Uhura, Chekov, Scotty… you name it! They’re all bad to the bone! I’m absolutely giddy.

Wow! Indeed they do rock. I wasn’t overly excited about the movie until the trailers started coming out. I hope it lives up to the hype because this is one I am definitely going to see in the theatre.
Explain to me how Kirk, Spock, Bones (older) Uhura (younger), Scotty (older), Sulu and Chekov (at least 10 years younger) all wind up in the same timeline together, and I might consider glancing at this. Otherwise, it’s crap and should be ignored.
Easy explanation in 2 words – “quantum mechanics”. Quantum theory explains alternate timelines and universes quite well and has always been prevalent in all the Star Trek series.
Instead of asking others to explain it to you, do some reasearch and educate yourself – a simple Google search led me to:

Other then the simple fact that it’s STAR TREK, I’m going to see it due to it being a JJ Abrams film (who I feel is very talented and keeps the audience entertained).

I saw the trailer in a theater and thought it was amazing. I then realized half way through the trailer that it was Star Trek, and promised myself to never see it…
