Giovanni Gallucci gave a fantastic lecture at WordCamp Dallas 2009 on the Top 10 Extreme Social Media Hacks. It was an action packed 45 minutes with more suggestions coming at the attendees than most could take notes for.
Luckily we’ve got the whole thing captured on video, so we can catch up on everything missed. Oh, and if you didn’t get the chance to see this live, well you’re in for a real treat! Here are the slides in case you need them separately.

Excellent video. I will have to give some of these tips a try. I like that he promoted 15-30 minutes of online “service” to others. I bet if you dedicate just that small amount of time it would do wonders for your network reach. I also like that he mentioned to not sell but to influence. I’m not a social media guru and don’t have a following of any kind but it makes me feel like I could and should build a stronger network.
Like the video..I really like when he said that self-servicing will not help.. you must focus on the people and try and convey your message to them for the online service you provide.
In the long term socila media is bound to dethrone the conventional search engine as we know it, and networking is key here. An extended circle of friends and associates that share common interests, what better? Who do you ask for advise first? A trusted friend or a total stranger?
