Howdy folks. I’ve made two fairly significant changes to the old blog here today, and I’m hoping to get a little feedback from you regulars as to how these are turning out.
- I updated my “Related Posts” plugin to use Yet Another Related Posts Plugin. Though it was a more complex install than the old one, it does two things that I like better. First, it seems to be a little more accurate. Second, it shows a short preview of the related post by the link. I think this makes it easier to determine if that related post is actually interesting or not to the reader.
- I installed a new caching / content distribution system from Steady Offload. This is NOT a free service, so if I want to keep it here I’ll have to pay for it. But the purpose is to make all of the images and pages in general load quicker on the blog. Personally, the site seems faster to me. But I’m waiting to hear from you guys. Do things seem faster? You should especially notice on posts with lots of images.

Holy crap! Just opened up your 87 Las Vegas photos post and it opened up SO FAST!! Awesome!!!
Oh, and so far, I like the old related posts plug in you had. The text on these is so small, that it’s not worth it for me to read. And don’t call me old, dude – I’m only three months older than you! LOL!
Its nice to see you have installed related posts plugin by Yarp, even I am using that. As far as the loading of the page is concerned I dont think you site was slow..maybe because I am on a fast connection..
Wow…the images load real quick! Related Post seems to just fine according to me.

The text in the related posts is quite small for my liking, a little bigger would be better.
The posts, like the Las Vegas one, load fast. I like the preview on the related links.
I definitely find the images are loading quicker, noticably so considering the laggy “broadband” we have in South Africa.
The new caching / content distribution system seems to work well. Pages load really fast. Although, I never noticed a delay on your site before.
