In my case, it's because I love my Rapid Strap and can use the rc2 with one of the Rapid Strap connectors and keep my tripod mount and my camera strap connector on simultaneously - a HUGE improvement! So the net result is that I can hardly perceive a difference. Add this to the fact that I've often got a Canon 5D MK ii and a 70-200mm lens mounted on it, and the tripod feels non existent by comparison. :-) John P. Do you find the resulting combination extremely top-heavy? I currently have the Manfrotto 190XPROB legs with 488RC2 head and even with that setup find things to be weighted toward the top (and overall, a 5.4lb burden to carry around...thus it stays at home most of the time).
