Tutorial: The Inside Out Cheeseburger (Yep, Cheese on the Inside!)
by John P.
Here is just a little video I threw together with my friend AJ Wood while demonstrating how to use a few of the effects in iMovie. Nonetheless, I’ve had a lot of complements on my cheeseburgers ever since I learned how to make them from the guys working the grill at Whole Foods Market in Plano, TX.
You see… what you do is put the cheese on the inside! Yeah. Take a look.
You are right! that IS the only way to eat a cheeseburger! Here is what I suggest:
Into the meat, mix (gently now so you don’t smash the meat!) Cavendars seasoning (its a Greek seasoning, fabulous) and a splash of liquid smoke.
for the cheese, shred up some white cheddar (cracker barrel is my favorite for this) and add a little cooked crumbled bacon. (I know, its bad for you, WHO CARES?)
Do the rest exactly like you said!
Then grill or whatever you want to do to cook them.
For the top of them, grill some green onions, just leave them whole and char the heck out of them till they are all soft and squishy! Chop these up VERY small, and mix in with some real mayo and a little chipotle powder, and a touch of lemon juice. Put this on top of the burgers.
Oh, and John, you MUST toast the buns, its just not as good otherwise :)
Dude, I’m not really even much of a beef eater, just occasionally chicken – but, that looks good!! I bet the hubs and my 16yr old would really like it, too! :)
I’ve tried several iterations of this in the past. My current favorite is to grind up bacon into the beef. Then sandwich cheddar and diced onions in the center.
Wow, those are heavy on the old digestive system. But damn good.
Tiropita Recipe (Greek Cheese Pies)
Some people don’t want to attempt to cook Greek food because a few of the dishes are pretty complex. Well, this isn’t one of them. The worst thing about making these tasty pastries is that they take a little time. I’d say start to finish in about an hour.
The name Tiropita (pronounced...
Chefs at Houston’s Steakhouse Working the Grill
A little while back I was visiting my brother in Houston and we went to a steakhouse called Houston’s. While we were waiting for a table I took this 10 minute video of the chefs working the grill and prepping the food.
These guys were serious pros, and it’s cool to watch, but you should...
John P’s First Ever Trip to White Castle!
Today while driving from Minneapolis to St. Paul, Minnesota I spotted a White Castle and immediately detoured so that I could relish in the experience made famous by Harold and Kumar as well as the Beastie Boys.
I went inside and immediately spotted the folks at the grill working on those tiny little square burgers that...

YUMMY!
Well that looks mighty tasty! It even fits the Health Challenge. You know, cutting that sucker in half. Shrew way to #GetHealthy.
It looks great and absolutely yummy! I have to try it, thanks for the idea!
