You guys know Cali Lewis and TreyRatcliff, right? Well, the other day we were having a little lunch and Cali decided to be nosey and ask Trey what the heck he keeps in that huge camera bag he carries all over the world!
Luckily I was there with my trusty little Canon G11 camera to record the resulting discussion. So for those of you wondering what a professional in hdr photography carries with him wherever he goes, wonder no more!
Dude! I’d love that gear. Great setup. John, you need to teach him how to wrap / store cords. Seriously, I feel guilty when I leave a cord un-wrapped in your bag. :)
Agree with Cali! That was definitely“geektastic”!!! Awesome! :D
Ok, but, a question – the stuff he ‘leaves behind’, does he leave it in the hotel room? Or lock it up with the front desk? At the conferences I’ve been to so far, I’ve been a total worry wart and lugged my stuff (tech stuff, expensive stuff) around with me everywhere. And most of my friends were just skipping along lightweight with their stuff left in their rooms. Have I watched too many magazine shows? Or maybe been reading OMB too long? ;) Seriously – what do you experienced travelers do, John? (Especially if you can’t afford expensive solutions, like requesting a safe in your room – some rooms have them, right?)
Lisa – I just leave my stuff in the hotel room… I’ve never had a problem. Most rooms have a basic safe – I always put my passport in there — also my computer if it fits and I am in a sketchy country.

My New Custom HDR Wall Art From Trey Ratcliff of StuckInCustoms.com
A few weeks ago I got a brand new piece of art from Trey Ratcliff, who specializes in hdr photography. And I’m not talking about a little 8″x10″ photo or anything… I’m talking about a 5 foot diagonal full color photograph specially printed on a high gloss aluminum surface.
The photo is one Trey took...

If you look carefully, at 1:35 into the video there is an orb that zooms across the screen. Pretty cool!!!
