A Short Love Story in Stop Motion

by John P.

Carlos Lascano made one of the most amazing short films I’ve ever seen. What is so impressive about this film is that it’s entirely stop motion, so every single frame had to be created by hand. I can only imagine how long it took to create 3 minutes of video this way.

Every character was either drawn or modeled by hand, and you can read a little more about Carlos’ process here.

To give you a feel for how popular this film is, it’s been viewed over 6 million times in the last two years. And while that is not always an indication of actual quality, in this case it definitely is. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did, and if you have other great examples of stop motion video please share!

That was so awesome! I especially love the ending – so totally sweet! Not to even mention all the awesomeness in the making of the thing!

I found a cool one once about baby-making! ;-) http://www.hippiespelunker.com/2009/07/24/stop-motion-animation-of-baby-making/

This is so cool! My grandson has been trying to do a stop motion video with his Legos and is finding it very time-consuming. I can’t imagine how long this took. Kudos to Carlos.
