One Week Till OpenCamp! Here’s a Little Video…

Well, we’re a week away from OpenCamp. Love it or hate it, OpenCamp has definitely impacted my ability to publish to my own blog. I’m looking forward to being done with all of that for a while so I can focus on my own projects again.

That is not to say that I am not finding OpenCamp to be an incredibally rewarding experience! It’s definitely worth every minute spent on it! I’ve made lots of close friends and had amazing experiences already. And I know that OpenCamp will change some people’s lives!

We have a lot of interesting stuff going on, and one of those things is that Dr. Nico Martini’s students from UTD will be attending OpenCamp as a mandatory part of class! So for a little fun Cali and I put this video together for them. Though everyone might get a kick out of it…

5 Amazing Examples of Watermelon Carving

Here in Texas it is HOT outside! I mean it’s still nearly 100 degrees at midnight during the summer. So, it’s no surprise that Watermelon is a favorite around these parts. If you keep it in an ice chest for a while before you carve it up it makes for a cool refreshing treat!

But there are chefs out there who are using watermelons (and other fruits) for much more artistic purposes! And I was amazed to see some of the things these people can do in a very short time.

The Guinness Book of World Records named the Honey Badger the most fearless animal on earth. After you watch this crazy little bugger in action you’ll definitely know why! This psychotic little rodent will take on the deadliest animals on earth without fear.

In fact, I would say that this sucker’s “fear circuit” is definitely broken. Watch and see!

OpenCamp is Just 18 Days Away and the CrAzInEsS Continues!

WOW! I don’t know that I’ve ever been so excited about a conference in my whole life. And it has nothing to do with the fact that it’s one that I’m helping to organize! Usually that is a major detractor actually. You do so much work that you just don’t have any fun! But OpenCamp is all about fun, learning, and socializing. And we are BRINGING it by the boatload!!!

Help Me Break the World ReTweet Record!

Is there a World Record for the number of times something has been ReTweeted? I have no idea. But you know what? There should be!

Just a few minutes ago I put out a tweet in an attempt to set a new World ReTweet Record! Is this rediculous? Of course! And it isn’t even close to being the last time I do something rediculous!!! But come on folks, you gotta admit it’s also a little cool. Well, maybe not cool. But funny. No? At least you’ll give me pathetic! Tutorial: Manually Take WordPress Out of Maintenance Mode

Today while performing a WordPress upgrade on another blog the update failed! Grrr. If that wasn’t enough of a problem, when I checked the site it was stuck in “Maintenance” mode – meaning that no matter what you tried to do the only thing that showed up was a page telling you the site was in “Maintenance Mode”.

I Googled like a madman, and searched the WordPress site too, but there is no documentation as to what to do to get it out of this mode! So, I fired up my FTP browser and manually performed a complete upgrade of WordPress. Still no luck!
