What’s not to love about Trey Ratcliff? He is a passionate pioneer of photography. Notice I did not say “HDR” photography, but simply photography. Trey is a master of the HDR process in the same way that Ansel Adams was a master of the zone system and the darkroom. Both are/were amazing artists with a passion for sharing their techniques with others.

  2. I’d like th tutorial as it wouold be my first exposure to his teaching. I think his photos look great and I would like to learn how to do HDR photography.

  3. Every day Trey both frustrates me and fires my imagination. Frustrating? Yes, how can he be so good, have such creativity and be the sort of person you’d be happy to introduce to your buddies, your grandmother and your boss? Of course that’s frustrating. But his creativity, openness and clear desire to share his talent is the counterbalance that’s so captivating. Give me 10% of his drive and I’ll supply the rest!! Always captivating, engaging and most of all – encouraging.

  4. Kevin P. says:

I love Trey’s work. In fact, he’s the reason that I got back into photography and started doing HDR. Browsing the photography books at a local bookstore one afternoon I picked up his book, and after the initial “Whoa…”, I was hooked. Of course, I bought his book and then I picked up a copy of Photomatix Pro based on his recommendation; a couple of months ago I attended the online webinar he hosted with Peachpit Photo Club, and I’m eyeing his ebooks.

I’ve got my fingers crossed that I win, but even if I don’t I’ve been inspired to slow down, look around and hone my photography and HDR skills.

  5. I think Trey and his work are amazing. He truly has inspired me in many ways. If it weren’t for him and his amazing photography, I, in the least, would not be into HDR photography.

  6. Jonathan Shapransky says:

Trey’s work is absolutely amazing. It has inspired me to learn HDR it improve my photography.

  7. Eric Rivera says:

What I find great about Trey’s work is that he takes what could be ordinary perspectives and makes them extraordinary. They become expressive, emotional, and he’s willing to share how he does it. I have recently just begun to learn to use my camera and hope reach his level of professionalism.

  8. His work is inspiring. Such that I have picked up my dslr with renewed passion.

  9. shane lund says:

I have been a fan of Trey’s for a year or so and always look forward to his blog posts and insights in HDR techniques

  10. Ray says:

    Really creative work…

  11. Nuno Marques says:

I have been following Trey’s work for a long time and of course I love, I am actually in love for hdr and that’s Trey’s fault.

  12. Adam says:

So jealous that Trey might be moving to New Zealand… Such a gorgeous country and I’m sure it will inspire a lifetime worth of photographs!

  13. Tim R says:

Being a technoweenie myself, never feeling like I can know enough, I would put this information into practice. But I would be willing to bet it would get double duty in my house since my daughter is my photo mate (freshman in HS, 6 parts home schooled, 2 parts one day a week schooled, and 1 part college class at UGA – not counting the art she is learning from me). She has watched Joe McNally (even has a signed book), Zack Arias, Scott Kelby and others online and on DVD. Oh yeah, she would be all over this. Her motto: too much HDR can be overkill.

  14. Joel Castaneda says:

I enjoy seeing Trey’s work. It’s awesome that he is so willing to share his techniques.

  15. Ken says:

HDR done well is truly amazing.

  16. Ken Barnett says:

Love Trey…..more of him on TWIT!

  17. Olumayowa Obigbesan says:

Trey was all the inspiration I needed to ascertain that HDR photography would be my niche and specialty but I’ve been facing some difficulty in rendering my proposed outcome from my images; and I betcha this will be just the ‘Chemical X’ I need to get my photography pphenomenal. John I’m looking forward to viewing your work and thanks for a great offer!

  18. Robert Smothers says:

My recent intrest in HDR lead me to Trey’s site…his work is amazing and the information is very informative for a novice.

  19. Gene McCullagh says:

Trey’s HDR work is brilliant! He’s an inspiration to working at the HDR craft.

  20. murphyz says:

I echo a few people above in that I also find Trey’s work inspirational and, as Craig mentions, I’ve picked up my camera with a renewed passion and now I pretty much shoot 90% of the time for HDR. Trey’s work is simply on another level to mine, but is something that I like to look at and still think ‘yeah, well if I was on that mountain looking at that waterfall I’m sure my image would be just as good’ – even though I know it won’t be. Though I’ve never been one to enjoy travelling my new love for HDR has opened up a new part of my life for me. I enjoy going to new places and capturing what I see with a more defining look than I would normally be able to get, and it’s all thanks to HDR and that’s something I wouldn’t have without Trey’s work and, more importantly, his free tutorial out there for me to look at. I remember when I first learnt about HDR, and just before I did the tutorial, I saw several great HDR images covering several subjects. It is these images which pushed me to learn this technique so I went straight into the easy to follow tutorial on stuckincustoms.com and started to learn. At the time I didn’t know who Trey was, and the fact some guy was doing a free photowalk in London meant nothing to me until the following week when I realised who that person was. Trey. I also found out that all of those great HDR images I saw, of fireworks, of a horse, of a field, of Times Square, etc – they were all belonging to one man.

Hmm, come to think of it – I think of him as a bit of a showoff now ;o)

  21. Andrew Smith says:

Trey’s work didn’t just get me started on HDR, but renewed my interest in photography in general (and my desire to travel all over the world!)

  22. David Latour says:

Treys work is such great art. I dont know that anyone could duplicate his art. It is truly amazing. I have wanted to get my hands on a copy of this DVD for sometime now. Thank you for the opportunity.

  23. Andrew Brandt says:

    What a wonderful offer!

I began learning HDR photography earlier this year and have excitedly approached each season with a new eye towards new photography. I discovered Trey’s website and daily posts and frequently return there (and his Facebook site) to admire his photos and learn more about his technique. I’d love to see the workshop to continue my training and the inspiration.

Feel free to see some of my work on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=30922141&l=d682666e67&id=1493149303. I’d be happy to discuss the photography and compare notes, too.

Didn’t realize how many other artistic talents Trey has. Painting and drawing! It all makes sense now seeing that his HDR work is exquisite.
