Zen Magnets

We have all played with magnets as a kid. I know I used to have quite the collection of them as a kid. However, the one type of magnet that I never had as a kid are the variety known as rare earth magnets. Now, rare earth magnets are used in a variety of things. For one, they are even used to propel things such as launched roller coasters. The magnets absorb the energy created by the stators on the coaster track to help propel these vehicles at times in excess of 100 m.p.h. One of the first ones to do this was the Superman Escape From Krypton Roller Coaster At Six Flags Magic Mountain near L.A.:

These type of magnets are used in what are known as Zen Magnets. With Zen Magnets, they are so strong that you can put them together with other Zen Magnets and do all kinds of interesting creations with them. This video below shows just how much this one person alone was able to do with them:

Never Trust a Scamming Beggar – Pictures and Video Evidence

I KNOW you’ve been hassled by beggars about 100 times at least in your life. And nothing drives me crazier than people standing around begging. I absolutely NEVER give them money.

So, do you think that makes me an a-hole? Because I’m not. I’ve donated more to charity than most people will in a lifetime. What it makes me is not a sucker.

Tornado Seen Hitting A Windfarm

With all the things that storm chasers, researchers, and the public have recorded tornadoes hitting have been more than one person can truly fathom.

However in storm chasing circles, the one thing that has been talked about recording on video is of a tornado near a Wind Farm. With the large amount of wind farms in the plains, the possibility of being seen is fairly high but never really had been recorded on video. On November 7, 2011, when a supercell produced several tornadoes (One rated EF4 in Intensity near Tipton, OK) one landed near a Wind Farm in this video. In fact, one of the twisters, went right over several of the windmills and even totally wrapped it up in its circulation. Amazingly, the windmills came out undamaged!

What a Year on Earth Really Looks Like

“How long is one year?”

one year on earth is complicated. What’s the answer to that question? Most of us would reply, “365 days,” but we wouldn’t necessarily be correct. While we’ve been trained and told to round to 365 days, the measurement of a year is much more complex than a simple number. First of all, how do you measure it accurately? It’s not as if we can put a line in space and keep a stopwatch until we get to it again. We’re not on a stable, measured track. In fact, the question, “How long is one year,” only gets more complicated the further we dig into it.

What about leap years? Most of us recognize that ‘one year’ is not exactly 365 days, but is in fact a few hours, days and minutes longer. Rather than adding this extra time every year, however, we compile it into a leap year – really a leap day at the end of February – once every four years. This primitive jury-rigging of the gregorian calendar might nudge it back into place, but it still doesn’t answer the question, “How long is one year?”

Top 10 Biggest and Best Jumps Ever Caught on Video

Even has a kid, I can remember making incredible jumps before on my bicycle and such. And I also knew many a people that would do sick jumps on skateboards, cars, etc etc. However, when I saw the jumps being done in this video clip, I was truly floored.

What especially caught my attention was the jump made at the end of the clip. This jump was literally done from a height even above the Troposphere with just a standard parachute to slow the man down! Even more amazing was that he stated like it didn’t even feel like he was falling until he got into the Troposphere and felt the air roaring by him:

Police at UC Davis Pepper Spray Non-Violent Students

I’m neither for or against the “Occupy” movement, but I am definitely a supporter of the US Constitution which guarantees:

…the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances…

Yesterday, police at UC Davis demonstrated that they don’t value that particular edict established by the people when they turned a can of riot control pepper spray on a peaceful group of students sitting on the ground. The entire event was captured on video and in photos.

The man responsible for the attack on these citizens is UC Davis Police Lt. John Pike.

Texas Chemical Fire Causes Its Own Weather

One of the most incredible, but also one of the scariest sights to see is a large chemical fire. Not knowing what is exploding and burning leaves many folks to wonder what might go up in flames nearby, plus the after-effects from a health standpoint.

However the chemical fire in this video showed us some truly unique aspects that one may not expect to see. In this large chemical fire in Wacahachie, TX on 10/03/11, the fire was so intense along with its powerful explosions that it literally created micro scale weather events happen at the site of the fire! The first one you will see is what is known as a Firenado. This small, tornado-like whirlwind forms when you have rapidly rising air above a large fire. In this video, the fire is so intense that it literally gets wrapped up into the circulation with incredible speed!

What’s even more unusual in this video is that the rising hot air actually rolls the air horizontally into the updraft/plume of the hot rising air to the point where the horizontal roll actually rotates into the updraft and tightens enough to form a landspout funnel cloud aloft!
