10 Traits of True Leadership

LeadershipBelieve me – leaders are made, not born. And this is good news for anyone that truly wants to improve their leadership skills.

If you want to step up to the plate and help shape the future at work, in an organization, as a teacher or anywhere else, you need to master the 10 traits I’ve listed right here. I should state that this is not some list I’ve regurgitated from elsewhere. This is my own personal list that I’ve lived by my entire career.

Do they work? Well, given the fact that I’d attribute all of my past successes to the teams I’ve led, I’d say so. But perhaps if we’re lucky a few of my old employees will stop by and let us know.

13 Amazing Cirque du Soleil Performances

Cirque du SoleilCirque du Soleil is, without a doubt the most amazing circus on the planet. They find the most incredible performers on earth and assemble them on stage for shows that literally defy description and leave audiences gasping and begging for more.

I’ve seen a number of Cirque du Soleil shows in Las Vegas as well as in various cities when they travel. The bad news is that tickets normally run around $100 per person, and you have to buy them well in advance to get great seats. The good news is, you’ll never see anything cooler in your life, so the shows are worth every penny they charge. The even better news is that I’ve assembled 13 great acts here for you to see without having to pay to do it!

13 Billboards (I laughed, I cried, I posted.)

Blank BillboardI scoured the Internet tubes for an entire day just to assemble this collection of fantastic billboards. They are from all over the place, and it wasn’t until after I assembled them that I realized I didn’t keep track of where most originated (if anyone knew in the first place). So sorry about that.

Anyway, for Thursday the 13th here is a crop of 13 freshly prepared humorous, cool and witty billboards. (Hmmm… Humorous. Cool. Witty. Remind you of anyone?) So, enjoy the fruits of my cheap Greek-American labor. Oh, and Warning: This article is Not kid safe!

Top 10 Weird Al Yankovic Videos

Weird AlWierd Al Yankovic kicks ass! Yeah, I said it. What?

So, I decided to put together my Top 10 list of Wierd Al Yankovic Videos. That was before I figured out that Scott Robbin had done this like a year ago!

Well, that’s OK because he and I have different opinions on the matter, and this being America he is clearly allowed to be wrong (just kidding Scott).

Just a Whole Boatload of Schoolhouse Rock

Schoolhouse RockI came across one of the Schoolhouse Rock videos and was going to post it for old time’s sake, then I figured that everyone would have a different favorite, so I better post them all. That was also before I remembered how many of them there are!

Anyway, I wasted half the day gathering as many as I could find, so here they are – at least for as long as they last on YouTube. (I sure hope everyone is on a broadband connection!)

Caught on Film – Police Misconduct and Brutality

Police BrutalityI’ve seen a ton of videos out there that show officers giving someone the beat down during the commission of a crime, but that’s not what we’re talking about here. The following compilation of videos are, in my opinion examples of police going way beyond the limitations imposed by the laws of the United States.

Some people have argued that videos such as these may be terrible, but they are only an extremely small and not representative sample of police conduct in general. Well, forgive me for being skeptical, but I believe that for every one of these that actually gets caught on video there are probably hundreds that do not. In fact it has been my experience with police officers that they tend to selectively enforce laws as they deem suitable to their individual benefit at the time – even when they are inappropriate or flat our incorrect.

Top Video-Editing Video Tutorials

Since I bought a really nice camcorder a few weeks ago I’ve been preparing to produce and upload some videos in the near future. In the processes I needed to get up to speed on the use of video editing software, and I didn’t want to pay hundreds of bucks for professional training since I’m already pretty proficient at a wide variety of software.

So, as usual I did a search of the net and came across all of the following tutorial videos that teach how to create and edit movies. If you find any other high quality tutorials please drop a comment below and let me know as I’m trying to learn as much as possible right now.

49 Incredible 3D Motion Photo Panoramas

Eiffel Tower PanoramaWow, Panoramas.dk is one of the greatest sites I’ve ever come across. It features a number of three dimensional panoramas which allow you to virtually look around a given space. This is a technology that can only flourish on the Web since you cannot move around inside a static photograph.

There are virtual reality panoramas of the Eiffel Tower, Carnival in Rio, a Camel Carts in Bikaner India, a human Zoo, an ariel view of Sydney Australia and even the Apollo Moon Landings.

The site can be a little difficult to navigate so I compiled the following list of several I enjoyed.
