Some Aussie scientists have made the fascinating discovery that drinking alcoholic beverages made with artificial sweeteners will get you hammered TWICE as fast as straight sugar based alcoholic drinks.
The theory is that the sugar slows down the absorption of the alcohol in the stomach, while artificial sweeteners do nothing of the sort.

If you’re new to an area, traveling, or just want to find some new places to eat, ToEat.com provides an interesting and different type of restaurant search engine.
What makes this site different is that it combines a Google Maps mashup that overlays restaurant locations. In addition to being able to choose a specific area by city, state or zip code you can also select the type of food you’re in the mood for. So, if its Mexican you’re after, that’s all you’ll get.
I’m a big fan of the Wendy’s Spicy Chicken sandwich. I also enjoys me some McDonald’s chicken nuggets. But seriously, only multi-national fast food chains can take something as healthy as fresh chicken breast and make it as bad for you as a greasy pepperoni pizza.

I love to eat seafood. But since there are a few billion other people that share that sentiment, many varieties of fish are being taken at an alarming rate. In fact, at a rate that cannot be sustained.
So, the Aquarium in Monterey California has put togetherthis nifty site which is designed to help educate us all regarding which seafood comes from sustainable sources, and which is killing off the species.

Check out this video to learn how to peel the skin off a potato the easy way!
Although it’s in Japanese, if I understand correctly you just make a small cut through the skin around then entire potato, then boil it, drop it in ice water for 10 seconds, pull it out and slip the skin right off. Amazing time saver.
Wonder if it works in the microwave as well?

Wired Magazine (August 2006) reports that Autodesk founder (you know… AutoCAD) and Hacker’s Diet author, John Walker, claims you can lose 10 pounds in two months by simply eating less.
