Star Wars Missile Defense is Now a Reality

Star Wars ICBMRemember way back with Reagan was talking about building “Star Wars”, the missile defense system to protect the US from Soviet nuclear attack? Well, guess what. It lives.

That’s right, we can now take down missiles before they ever get near posing a threat to the continental US. So, it makes me wonder if we could deploy these against a fleet of inbound aircraft as well? I mean, does this mean that the US is now invulnerable against any sort of air attack?

Fouad Al FarhanAlthough I can’t read a word of his blog, Fouah al-Farhan has been taken into custody by the Saudi government for posting some remarks critical of the government.

They are supposedly holding out for a written apology, so if indeed we do see one expect it to be completely bogus. I mean, lets face it. If someone arrests you for excercising free speech and then you apologize for doing so, you’re clearly lying through your teeth.

Those of you that are regulars can guess what I feel about this. Frankly I don’t care what country you live in, freedom of speech is the most basic human right. From it all other freedoms flow. In my opinion any government that decides it can no longer tolerate free speech is one that should be overthrown by the people - from whom all power is truly derived.

Barack Obama’s Plans to Fight Terrorism

Barack Obama on TerrorismLet’s face it. It looks like the two most likely candidates that will be put forth by the Democratic party for the next presidential election will be Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. Love em’ or hate em’, you better start getting familiar with their political views now.

So, here is a speech Senator Obama gave on August 2 regarding how he believes the US needs to fight Terrorism. I’m not going to color it with any opinion, just let you guys watch it and tell me what you think!

Kasparov ArrestedMother Russia is hurting. And Garry Kasparov is taking the brunt of it.

On Saturday 11/24 while leading a peaceful march he was taken into custody, beaten, and jailed for 5 days. This is nothing new for Kasparov. Back in April he was beaten and arrested during a protest as well. The notable thing about that rally was that it was co-organized by Putin’s own former prime minister Mikhail M. Kasyanov.

Tasered for SpeedingHere is some breaking news. This video was only released yesterday, and it demonstrates a clear and frankly unbelievable abuse of power by a Utah Highway Patrol officer.

Some guy was pulled over for speeding and argued with the police officer a bit about the speed limit. It’s a bit hard to hear but it sounds to me like the guy was going about 60, but the highway speed limit changed to 40, and that is exactly where the cop pulled him over. I’m guessing it was a classic speed trap.

Anyway, the police officer writes him a ticket, which he refuses to sign, so the cop pulls him out of the car and tasers him. Meanwhile his pregnant wife is freaking out!

JFK, Freedom, America, and Apple Pie

John F. KennedyI know this post is kind of random and out of the blue, but I was listening to someone on the radio making some ignorant statements and I had some thoughts I wanted out of my head…

I understand that some countries don’t like the US. I also understand that this is almost universally true when it comes to countries that lack freedom (Iran, N. Korea, China, the former USSR, etc).

But how can it ever come as a surprise to anyone when the US decides to take action? Let’s face it, you know if you’re a friend or a foe of the US LONG before anything happens.

46 years ago President Kennedy said:

“Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and success of freedom.”

Am I supposed to believe the world thinks we changed our minds?

US State GDPs VS Other Countries

US State GDPs VS Other CountriesWe often hear about how the US is such a consumption oriented country. We’ve got the fattest people, we pollute the most, we’re spoiled… yeah, yeah, whatever.

But here is an interesting way to look at the economic impact the US plays on the global economy. You see, comparing the Gross Domestic Product of another nation, say… Canada, to the US is just silly. In fact, the entire output of Canada is roughly equal to just the state of Texas.

More Muslim Wife Beating Justification

Islamic Wife BeatingA while back I wrote about a video of a Muslim cleric who gave a lecture on the proper way to beat a woman. And of course we were recently reminded of the true tragedy of spousal abuse with this film of a man actually beating his wife.

Well, thanks to Adi again we have this follow up lecture from another muslim “holy” man explaining with amazingly twisted logic why women do indeed need to be beaten.

The Most Hazardous Job on Earth

Men in a 400 Ton Metal PressIt’s actually hard to believe that anyone would be willing to do this, but at some factory in China they have convinced a bunch of grown men to sit INSIDE a 400 ton metal press while it is stamping steel!

Holy crap! Folks, if something went wrong here, there would be nothing left of these guys but jelly!

Al Gore Wins Nobel PrizeFolks, I’ve been saying that if you haven’t already, you NEED to see An Inconvenient Truth. If it doesn’t change the way you look at the world, then you probably have no heart. (Grin!)

I also previously reported that Gore had been Nominated for Nobel Peace Prize. This is not just because he made a movie and won an Oscar, it’s because he has devoted his private life to the cause of climate change - and like it or not many, many, many people happen to agree with him and are happy he is carrying out this work.

So, today Albert Arnold (Al) Gore Jr. was jointly awarded the Nobel Peace Prize 2007 along with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC):

“for their efforts to build up and disseminate greater knowledge about man-made climate change, and to lay the foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract such change”

It’s too early to see the announcement on video, but Nobel has a YouTube channel which will no doubt post the video of this announcement shortly. View it here.

Deplorable Voting Fraud by Texas Legislators

Texas Representatives Vote FraudI don’t even know what else to say other than this makes me sick. The elected representatives of the citizens of the state of Texas are caught on film casting votes on one another’s machines and all they can say is “well, we’re very busy”?

I swear to God, I think they should all be impeached and special elections should be held to replace them. Furthermore, I think that any law passed during this session should be annulled by the courts because of the absolute possibility of vote fraud. I have no doubt after watching this video that people are cheating like hell on votes and taking advantage of the vacancy at the desk beside them.

How do these people expect me to have faith in a single vote? The system is corrupt beyond repair.
