Let’s face it, racing has fallen behind; no pun intended.  Results are still handed out on printed timeslips, and those smart phones that everyone walks around with in their pockets that put the ’60s space program to shame are still little more than a means to call for a ride if your car won’t start.
With the Super Bowl coming to Indianapolis, Indiana in a less than two weeks (I live just south of Indianapolis), there are many a commercial that are submitted to get played during the Super Bowl.
A local film making group headed by David Ward got one of their commercial submissions rejected for the Super Bowl. However, they are spearheading an effort to get the Super Bowl Committee to reconsider:

Frankly, I’m surprised the ball could even move around on the field with over 110 people running all over it. And the pros were obviously taking it pretty easy becasue I’m sure they could have knocked one of these kids out if they took a hard shot.

Chrysler's Superbowl 2011 Commercial with Eminem
In between goals and injuries, it was the advertisers who were battling to get the most attention. Here are our favorites from the 2011 SuperBowl:
I think I have to call this the best commercial of the Superbowl. It’s at least the best American car ad in a very long time. And it stars Eminem who delivers an impressive message.
I don’t care if you don’t like basketball. Heck, I don’t care if you don’t even like sports in general! You MUST see the 2008 Slam Dunk Championship highlights reel here!
If the NBA were anything like this highlight reel, this would be the richest sport in the world! Without exaggeration, this slam dunk contest even involves a lit birthday cupcake! You’ve never seen anything like it…

Thanks to Mark Ramsey of Pigskin Radio I was fortunate enough to attend the Dallas Desire vs. San Diego Seduction Lingerie Football League game on September 3, 2010. These are a magnificent group of ladies who absolutely play their hearts out! They do everything the men do, only they do it while wearing almost no protection. Frankly, they are a whole lot tougher, and unfortunately there are quite a few injuries during each game. Have you ever heard of the US Army Golden Knights? Before you answer that question, think carefully! Because if you’ve ever watched an Army / Navy football game, or seen the Indy 500, or basically any other major event where Army parachutists dramatically land in the center of the action then you have seen the Golden Knights!
Well, not only did I get the chance to spend a few days with the Golden Knights, I also had the extreme privilege of going on a tandem jump with Sergeant Jon Ewald while Sergeant Joe Abeln took care of videography duty documenting my first ever jump. Michael Battise, the battalion’s resident multimedia expert assembled the following edit of clips from Joe’s footage. I’ve also got some additional footage that I’ll be working on another edit with later so stay tuned for a different take entirely.
This video was forwarded on to me from my dad via mail and titled whoisthisguy.wmv! And I have to echo that question! Who the heck is this guy???
Seriously these are some of the most amazing soccer skills I’ve ever seen, no matter how many takes they scrapped while making this little video. This guy kicks a soccerball through a rolling tire, over a street to hit a beercan, and even throws something in the air and pegs it with the ball in mid-flight! Again, I’ve never seen anything like it…

I don’t care who you are, this is just plain worth watching! These girls demonstrate unbelievable athleticism with nothing more than a pole.
Yeah, the guys are going to love this for sure, because the women competing in the US Pole Dance Championship are smokin hot. But on top of that, if you watch what these ladies are doing you quickly realize they are actual athletes. I mean, they have to have been full blown gymnasts – and they are definitely strong enough to kick your ass!
I also took a few screen caps of the video below to stop the motion and you can see that seriously, only a gymnast could pull these moves off.
