Folks. I have a confession to make. I’ve been secretly cheating on all of you for some time now. Oh, and to make matters worse, I’m proud of it.
Yes, you already know that a few months ago I joined Layered Technologies as the Chief Marketing Officer… but I’ve got another on the side. And she’s called Woopra. I’ve been secretly working with Elie Khoury and Jad Younan on this project, and we just unveiled it yesterday at WordCamp, making Beta accounts available for the first time for all participants.
What can I tell you about Woopra? She’s hot, smooth, smart, and sexy. But don’t take my word for it… Here is what Cali from GeekBrief had to say after just a few minutes with Woopra.

It’s been a little while since I’ve dished out my weekly links. Let’s see if I can get back in the habit from here on out…

My favorite two things to watch on TV are Human Weapon, staring Bill Duff and Jason Chambers, and Ultimate Fighting Championship. Human Weapon is a show where Jason and Bill travel around the world studying all of the various martial arts for a week at a time, and then create a one hour documentary covering the history, techniques and science behind the various styles.
Bill is a former pro football player and wrestler, and Jason is a former Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter. They each have their own strengths and weaknesses. Bill for example is huge. At 6′4″ and 280 lbs when he travels around he’s normally the biggest human in the building. It’s especially challenging for the Asian countries to match his size. However, he’s not as quick as a smaller fighter. Jason is very fast, and technically more proficient. At 170lbs and 5′11″ he’s very close to my size. (After the Marines I weighted in at 176 and 6′.)
Jason and Bill have traveled all over the world and studied everything from Muay Thai to Pankration, to Silat - plus about 13 other styles that you may or may not have ever heard of. The show is just plain bad ass, and luckily you can watch a lot of the clips over on the History Channel site.

I’ve previously written about how to access your PC from anywhere for free, and my favorite tool for this purpose is LogMeIn.com. The only problem with LogMeIn is, you need to have previously installed, and have running, the LogMeIn application in order to access the machine remotely.
But what if your buddy / relative / coworker calls you out of the blue wanting you to diagnose some computer issue and you know it would be 100 times easier if you could just remote control the computer? Well, no problem! CrossLoop is the fastest, easiest method of accomplishing this.

Ok, so months ago I was talking to my buddy Greg about wireless routers, and I mentioned that you can get this upgraded firmware which will drastically improve your range and add features. Then, I totally forgot to send that information to him. But don’t worry, it’s not the only thing he’s waiting on. I still haven’t delivered a piece of art he ordered like a year ago! (Sorry Kim!)
Anyway, now that I’m done admitting my inadequacies, it’s time to redeem myself - at least partially. So, if you are the owner of a Linksys WRT54G series router (only like THE most popular router ever sold), then follow along to change it into something almost unrecognizably better than what you currently have!
