Hey everyone, I just did the drawing for the iPad about an hour ago, and we have a winner. I’ll be announcing the winner shortly in a blog post. Thank you ALL for participating! It was fun, and I’m happy we’ve got a winner.
I will say that running a Twitter based contest is quite hard, because you have to do so much manual tracking. So for next month’s prize I’m going to come up with something a little easier to administer. Stay tuned, and after my blog post about the iPad winner I’ll announce a new contest, which will be more fun and interactive!

I guess we’ll pick the winner on May 15. That gives us plenty of time to run the test and see what happens! :-)

I asked because my DM is full of spam due to autobots flooding it with their site promotion.
Blocking and reporting the spammers helps.

I’m getting 2 of the 3G models. Should I win, do you think Apple will prevent you from giving me a 3rd iPad?
Just kidding, (sort of), I’ll probably give it away to my Mom to replace her Kindle and DVD player (should I win, of course.)
I believe that Apple is currently petitioning congress to make it illegal for anyone to own more than two iPads. Their desire is for a “shoot on sight” strategy.

I hadn’t really considered that people were going to do it more than once. I guess it’s ok to do it a few times, but let’s make sure it doesn’t come across as spammy to people.
So, I’m not going to really give people a limit here, but if it looks like someone is tweeting constantly to try and really stack the odds in their favor I might just disqualify them because it will reflect poorly on me – and that is not what we’re aiming for here. ;-)

Leave it to the Poz to come up with an idea like this! Hah. I have to admit, even after the poor customer service you rec’d from Apple and feeling the same way as Jake and Amir do about this device I still wouldn’t be able to give it away. I want one, but just don’t feel like giving Apple my $ for this one, so I’m in… good luck everybody!

You mention that you will notify the winner by DM. What is DM? Would it be possible to use an email?

A DM is a Direct Message through Twitter. If someone is following you, you can send a DM. If they are not, you can not. So this is a way of verifying that whomever wins is actually following me. Besides, I won’t have people’s email address, only their twitter ID. :-)
