Well folks, yesterday I committed a cardinal sin. I wrecked my new AMG that I just told you about not long ago.

Those of you who follow me on Twitter got the news about an hour and a half after the wreck… just after the tow truck took my car back to the dealership from whence it came. And a very special thanks to all of you who called or responded back to my Tweet. I very much appreciate your concern for my safety (Lisa, Giovanni, Ted, Mike, Hallie, Paul H., Mike B., Paul M., I hope I didn’t miss anyone?).

This update is for the rest of you guys like my parents who read this every day and are going to call me after this and ask me why they had to learn about my accident through my blog! Well, the answer is… it’s just easier to tell everyone all at once, and no one was hurt – just my baby. So it wasn’t an emergency or anything. You’d have gotten a call if so.

I know that UPS and FedEx are rivals, but this is getting ridiculous!

I didn’t even know machines like this exist, but apparently there are tow trucks that literally just pick cars up and put them on the back of a flatbed before driving them off to tow truck hell (or wherever they go).

This little gem comes from the morning radio show of Roger, Rick and Marilyn over at CHUM FM, and was once again found by my buddy Jimbeau! By the time I was done listening to it, I was laughing so hard it hurt.

Sorry I’ve been pretty vacant for the last few days, but on Monday evening I got a call that my brother and his fiance were in a terrible car wreck down in Houston. My wife packed my stuff in about 20 minutes while I prepared and then headed out for the 4 hour drive.

It turns out that a woman ran a red light and plowed into the side of my brother’s Toyota 4Runner as he was crossing the intersection. She hit his SUV on the side in the rear, causing the vehicle to spin and then roll multiple times. The police officer later informed us that she admitted she was talking on her cell phone and not paying attention.

This is just so strange that it’s worth seeing. I’m not sure where it occurred, but apparently in the middle of the night a manhole erupts gushing millions of gallons of water onto the highway.

If you look closely you’ll see that the cover is about the size of a small car, and it looks like a truck runs into it and becomes disabled in the middle of the massive geyser blasting from the street.

But even better, keep watching and you’ll see some guy walking around inspecting things. And the storm drain errupts again and just drenches the guy! It’s hilarious! But he’s seriously lucky he didn’t get dragged back into the drain.

People have accidents. That’s not what this post is about. People also do stupid, reckless things. But we’re not focusing on that now either.

This is about people that obviously lack the requisite skills to operate a motor vehicle – who were also unfortunate enough to have the evidence caught on film.
