The Contortionist Ross Sisters Sing Solid Potato Salad…Yee-haw!

Boy howdy. You do NOT see this every day!

Here’s an old song and dance routine from the 1940′s by the Ross sisters – a threesome who will make you writhe in your seat just watching them contort their bodies. I’m not kidding, I have a hard time watching these ladies!

Of course, I’ve seen other contortionists like Kristina Kireeva, but there is something like watching three contortionists doing it in unison that really super creeps me out. Take a look…

Highlights from the 2009 US Pole Dance Championship!

Pole DancingI don’t care who you are, this is just plain worth watching! These girls demonstrate unbelievable athleticism with nothing more than a pole.

Yeah, the guys are going to love this for sure, because the women competing in the US Pole Dance Championship are smokin hot. But on top of that, if you watch what these ladies are doing you quickly realize they are actual athletes. I mean, they have to have been full blown gymnasts – and they are definitely strong enough to kick your ass!

I also took a few screen caps of the video below to stop the motion and you can see that seriously, only a gymnast could pull these moves off.

Cory the Baby – Dancing to Beyonce

dancing babyHmmm. As long as we are exploiting the children

Here is Cory Elliott from Auckland, New Zealand getting his dance on to Beyonce’s Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) (which has been viewed 75 MILLION times). By comparison, Cory’s video has only been viewed a paltry 4 million times.

Well, then again, Cory is only about a year old. So I guess we can forgive it the lack of attention just this one time. Even though dancing babies are all the rage. Though I do wonder… when Cory grows up, will he brag about this?

George Sampson the 13 Year Old Dancer Wins Britain’s Got Talent

It’s Christmas Eve, and I think that warrants something special. So, here is the amazing and inspirational story of George Sampson, the 2008 winner of Britain’s Got Talent.

George Sampson hails from Manchester where spent years dancing on the street to entertain the crowds and earn a little money. Right off the bat, that is amazing because he suffers from a rare condition called Scheuermann’s disease, which affects developing bones in children and teenagers and can cause a curvature of the spine.

The condition even caused him to go temporarily blind in one eye for two months around Christmas time, Sampson said to The Sun Newspaper. “The eye was all inflamed. I’d been using Deep Heat for my sore back, so at first I just thought I’d got it in my eye. But I ended up blind,” he said. “The spinal nerves were trapped and it affected my optic nerves, I lost all my coordination and it was really hard to dance, as I didn’t have my balance. I kept bumping into everything.”

Despite the disease, George actually competed in 2007, but marginally failed to make the grade. However, he didn’t let that stop him! Instead, he went home and worked even harder.

Pole Dancing: China’s Newest Fitness Activity

pole-dancing-new-chinese-fitnessA growing number of Chinese women are experimenting with the country’s newest, and most controversial, fitness activity.

Clad in knee-high leather boots, spandex shorts and a sports bra, Xiao Yan struck a pose two feet off the ground, her head glistening with sweat and her arms straining as she suspended herself from a vertical pole.

“Keeping your grip is the hardest part,” she said. “It’s really easy to slide downward.”

Ms. Xiao, 26, who works as a supermarket manager, is one of a growing number of women experimenting with China’s newest, and most controversial, fitness activity: pole dancing.

Dance Dance Revolution Fanatics

dance-danceFolks, I was at Dave and Busters in Frisco, Texas and saw these two guys going to town on this dancing video game! I think it was called Dance, Dance, Revolution… but I could be wrong.

Anyway, just check out these two little clips I took with my crappy cell phone video camera. (Hey, they’re better than nothing!) My question is, how much money do you think you have to spend to get this good at dancing on a video game? And the follow up question is, do you think the chicks dig it?

Synesthesia – A Study in Human Movement

Woman AcrobatJuggling, acrobatics, dancing, swimming, hula hoops… this video has got it all! And according to the creator:

This is my Honours project edited down to a watchable length – it’s an examination of rhythm and human movement.

In a way it reminds me of the Swim Bodies video, except that this one substitutes fun for creepy.

Dancing Gone Wrong

Dancing Gone WrongAn anonymous reader sent me a link to this first video, and it was pretty funny. As usual I latched on to the theme and entertained myself for hours with silly videos of people wiping out on the dance floor. So I present for your amusement the best of the dancing mishap videos I came across. If anyone has more to add please drop a link in the comments.

Oh, and I didn’t put up videos where people actually got seriously injured or died. Yes, I came across at least 2 fatal dancing injuries. How’d you like to have that on your headstone?
