Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams SpeechIf you haven’t heard of Randy Pausch, you need to. Randy was a Carnegie Mellon Professor (Oct. 23, 1960 – July 25, 2008) who gave his famous last lecture at the university on Sept. 18, 2007, before a packed McConomy Auditorium.

In his moving presentation, “Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams,” Pausch talked about his lessons learned and gave advice to students on how to achieve their own career and personal goals. The significance of the lecture was that Randy was dying of cancer.

What My Father Means to Me, by Richard E. Hoyt Jr.

Dick And Rick HoytA while back I wrote about one of the most inspiring stories I’ve ever heard about, the father and son team of Richard Hoyt and Richard Hoyt Jr. Well, in the June 2007 issue of Men’s Health magazine Richard Jr. published a huge father’s day letter to his dad. I figured it would be appropriate to share given that we’re only a week away.

You have to realize that it takes an extraordinary effort for him to communicate in this manner, so the length and eloquence of the message are moving.
