Hmmm. I’ve got a question. Why not let Marlboro sell packaged marijuana just like they do normal cigarettes or clove cigarettes? If one can believe the stats in the article below, the cost to fight the Pot war is simply amazing!
Arrests for marijuana possession — not sales or trafficking, just possession — totaled 738,916. By comparison, there were 611,523 arrests last year for all violent crimes combined.
Wow! I don’t understand that on so many levels:

Folks, I’m neither a Democrat, nor a Republican. But my mom asked me to give her an unbiased, factual rundown on the political platforms - so what my mother wants, my mother gets! Here you go Mom…
I’m making the presumption that the two candidates who are going to actually be running for President are Barack Obama, and John McCain. So, below I’ve taken the liberty of narrowing down all the data to these two guys. What you need to do is line up as many of your political ideal matches and then you can rationally choose who you are voting for.

Ok. I swear you guys all must think I’m a drug addict or something because first I wrote an article about How Cocaine is Made, then How Crack is Made, and now How to Grow Your Own Marijuana… but I swear I’ve never taken an illegal drug in my life!
In fact, unlike all of our politicians who just claim they “never inhaled”, I honestly have never even seen an actual marijuana cigarette. But perhaps therein lies the curiosity. After watching these videos you’ll know exactly how people grow this stuff, so whenever you hear about a drug bust on the news it’ll no longer be mysterious.

The worst thing about emergencies is that you just can’t predict them. The only good news is that you can plan for them.
Since people are always under duress when an emergency actually occurs it is prudent to assemble a kit that you can pull out when needed that covers most bases. So, here is a fairly complete list of the items you’ll find in my personal stash, plus a couple of extras that might be helpful for some folks with special needs.
Now seriously, why don’t you take a couple of hours and really honestly think thorough this emergency thing. You never know, perhaps the reason you’re reading this article today is a sign. You don’t want to be the person that didn’t pay attention and were left unprepared when disaster struck!

You guys know by now that I enjoy a good commercial. Well, my friend Karen S. sent me this one and it’s great. I don’t want to give a lot away before you give it a look, but the ingredients for this ad are:

Ok. This info is old, but I came across it and thought it would be fun to resurrect it once again.
There have been all sorts of claims as to the year these stats originated, but generally I believe they are from 1903. I have not vetted any of the “facts” here, but they do seem to pass the “gut-check” for reliability. Read the rest of this entry »

This is an old clip of a study of the effects of LSD on combat troops. It appears to be from around the 1940’s, and I don’t have any clue where it came from originally. But its mildly amusing to see a bunch of highly trained killing machines walking around aimlessly and falling over laughing.
LSD is typically delivered orally, usually on a sugar cube or in some sort of food product, so I’m guessing they were trying to determine how they could weaponize it by contaminating an enemy’s water supply or food supply. One surefire way to win is to make the other side not care if they fight any longer!

Prescription medication often comes with a hefty price tag and a built in bonus on the back end for the pharmaceutical company in the form of an overly aggressive expiration date.
A program called SLEP, the Shelf Life Extension Program, which has been administered by the Food and Drug Administration for the Department of Defense for 20 years has proven that 90% of medications maintain their potency even 15 years later.

As a follow up to my previous post regarding the manufacture of cocaine, I came across the attached image documenting the process of transforming normal cocaine to crack cocaine.
I actually struggled with myself as to whether or not to actually share this information, but ultimately I decided to post it for the following reasons:

Last Saturday Police in Jacksonville, Florida were working under cover, selling drugs and busting users. When they went over to 81 year old Issac Singletary’s front yard and started up he tried to run them off his property, apparantly threatening them with his .38 revolver.
Problem is, rather than the police getting the hell off his property, they pulled their weapons and killed him.

This is an AWESOME story of a mother not just talking - but actually doing everything she can to ensure that her child turned out right.
Chou Sa-Ngoun was desperate.
Her teenage son was skipping school for weeks at a time, using drugs, getting arrested, staying out all night, hanging out with the wrong kids.
Nothing she did seemed to make any difference. Grounding didn’t work. Neither did yelling, crying, taking away privileges, counseling, switching schools, probation or stints in juvenile hall.

This is a fascinating 6 minute video, created by a reporter living in Colombia named Matthew Bristow, documenting the process that cocaine goes through from the point at which it is a plant growing in the ground until it is refined enough to actually use as a drug.
They stop just short of the point that it gets sold to a drug trafficker or guerrilla - who further refine the drug.
